Sometimes when paradigms shift, brand preferences will change.

Tesla has promised a lot for not a ton of money. If they can deliver that, they won’t have any problem carving out a big enough market. It might come out of F-150 sales, good chance it’ll put a giant dent in Toyota and Nissan sales.

I think there is way too much emphasis on the competition. The space for electric trucks is big and the number of people able to fill that space is pretty small right now.

People aren’t generally resistant to change, they are resistant to change that takes more effort or costs more money.

F-150 drivers aren’t that rusted on, for the most part it’s likely a financial decision mixed with a brand bias because there’s such little variation in the current offerings from ICE manufacturers.

In 5 years the word of mouth for those in that price bracket will push a similar exponential growth curve as Model S3&Y

The fundamental difference is there is actually competition and diversity in the offerings. Especially since any advertising from legacy manufacturers direct those interested to Tesla to compare.

Exactly! Legacy automotive is eroding their own ICE line up in conjunction with the other legacy manufacturers EV offerings.

A company’s share of the of EV market is totally predicated on the production capacity they bring to it.

The caveat here is that they can’t be “compliance trucks”. If a manufacturer doesn’t bring truely compelling EV products to market, that whole company will fail. They will fail because their ICE market is exponentially shrinking with the exponential growth their EV competition is bringing.

Tesla'S are playing musical chairs for the Car of the year award.

They are the safest, and most technologically advanced... Daylight between them and the rest.

They are not an ugly car.

Not everyone would want a Tesla. This Niche is big enough to sustain business, but these guys compete with each other... not with Tesla.

Right now we're seeing Tesla destroying all opponents, the figures are in, and are conclusive. Whatever they put out... cars or trucks will sell.

We are at the stage of discussing EV competition. There's no point discussing ICE competition or Hybrid competition... it's over. They are gasping for air and may take time to die… But are irrelevant.

The fat lady is singing.

i hate when people say this.... what competition? if tesla is having delays the competition isnt even makin 10k ev's per year. even if tesla raised prices these trucks will still sell and people will choose a cybertruck any day over anything else. especially with the dealer fees. base price 40k once you step in the dealer "adjusted market value" bam 60k. also people willing to spend 70k on the CT would not mind spending an extra 10 to 20.
I mind it. A lot.
