I'm a little concerned being towards the front as my number is RN1127478## and I'm worried that I won't be able to afford the early models if the price is up around $100k and that there could be build issues.

Being a little further down the list could be a good thing, perhaps other models will come out or the price will drop and if there are build issues they are found and fixed.

You probably won't be forced to buy the release Models and will be able to hold your reservation for a bit to wait for a different model, so don't worry too much about it. For the Model 3 this is how it worked. You could sit on your reservation and then click the link when you were ready and select from the available models.

They could change it and make you use it or lose it, but I don't think that is what will occur at first.

I'd happily exchange places with if you are interested and conditions arise.... by luck my reservation # is 11292xxxx which speculatively puts me about 1.5y from Nov 30th launch, like mid 2025 , :)... I agree with your assumption that some kinks may need to be worked out in the first year but I am willing to take the risk with getting a CT early.

I believe that who ever wins this next presidential election is going to face an immediate crumbling of the economy. Lowering the interest rate is one of the most used tactics to stimulate economic growth. Incentives are a lesser used tactic, but I think we may see both regardless of who is in charge.

Both of these things could work in our favor as long as everyone can hold on to their job.

I have requested a change to my entry in the spreadsheet tracker multiple times. Just submitted the form again and sent an email. Not sure if the moderator is monitoring this but would love for that to get updated.

So, I look at the spreadsheet statistics and I see the most reservations are for the dual motor variant. Tri motor is second with very few Quad orders. I ordered the Quad. When I check my expected delivery date, my place in line drops 80%. Therefore, I think your actual place in line has to do with the variant you ordered. I need my CT to be a work truck, just like my current Silverado. I need the trailering capacity and the range. I did not order the Quad so I could jump the line.

Until we have a major increase in battery Kwh/lb, any electric truck will never be a "work truck, just like my current Silverado". Put a blade on the front to plow snow or pull any kind of trailer, and the battery is going to conk out very fast. The Cybertruck battery will have roughly 10% of the energy capacity in BTUs as the fuel in the tank of your ICE truck. Its just physics.

10% of the energy potential, maybe(?)… but productive use of the energy from a battery is much higher than petrol fuel. You don’t get 10% of the range. Vast majority of the fuel energy is lost in the form of heat and transmission of the power in driveline.

No one ordered the Quad. It was never an option on the reservation page.

Agreed. Efficiency improvements from lower drive train fiction and lower drag are primarily what get us to a 500 mile range.

If you think towing a trailer with an ICE does not hit the gas mileage, I have a bridge in San Francisco I want to sell you. My Silverado gets 13 mpg with no trailer. Hook up my 4800# PJ and the mileage drops to 9.

Historically, presidential elections and the economy have very little to do with one another. If anything, the incumbents try to strengthen the economy going into an election. If you believe the president has sway over interest rates, then they will be lowered going into the election.
