my first roadtrip, cooler was flying around the bed when the cruise control panicked on 2 lane road, causing bits of plastic marred all over the bed. my fault my lined 3500hd would do the same but I had learned to tie things down. now I spend a day trying to clean up the bed. and have a bunch of shock cord in the bed.
I don't see how plastic on plastic is going to help much with that, just 2 layers to get beat up.

Decided to have all the plastic in the bed sprayed at LINE-X. They did a great job and it looks great! The Phoenix location did an amazing job. I would highly recommend them.

I was their first Cybertruck, so it took all day. It will probably cost about $1500 for future trucks if you want it done like the way I did it…very time consuming to remove, tape, spray and re-install all the plastic…but it looks amazing.

I decided to spray the rear hatch trim also…depending how the bed liner material bonds to the slick plastic, I may go back and spray the rest of the trim on top of the bed…thoughts?

YES!!! Happy to see folks doing this! When I had ICE trucks, I would always ensure this was one of the first mods to do. Thanks for sharing. I am going to shop around locally and see about getting this done. Very nice!!

Yeah, this was engineered to be very tough so no bed liner was needed, I'm going to pass on this expense, and will coat it when it's all scratched up if it ever gets that way.
Totally hear you, but tough is subjective. This is my third truck and spray lining the bed if one of the best things you can do to it if actually using the bed. Although Tesla's come with some sort of coating...it will scratch and get damaged. Coating it just adds another layer of protection. Both of my previous trucks with the bed lining lasted many years and looked almost the same as the day they got sprayed when I sold them. Not indestructible, but better than how it came stock.

I don't see the point or how that is going to hold up any better. It's not like it was going to rust in the first place.
I can understand that. But I will say this truck bed and the plastic trim scratches very easily. My sails alone and the cap on the tailgate are already scratched. This liner would have prevented that.

Was there anything extra (besides tearing the truck bed apart) that Line-X had to do to get the spray liner to adhere to the plastic, such as use epoxy before spraying, etc.? Also, can you send me the name of the shop you had yours done at? I am trying to get mine done here in San Antonio and it would be great to be like it is possible, contact this shop.

Here is the info to the shop I used..ask for Rob 602-909-6755. They did "prep" the plastic before coating, but I'm not sure how.

The liner stuff is just going to get scratched so what's the difference? All I see it doing is adding cost. Trucks used as trucks are going to get scratches. If they don't rust what's the problem?

The Linex material is EXTREMELY tough and does not scratch like the OEM plastic. It also provides extra grip.

Does the vault divider still work?
The Vault Divider does not work before OR after the LineX material. I have the "new style" divider and it has a design flaw..it's just too tall. Tesla has replaced the bed floor on some customers and it still has not helped.

That looks so good I would be tempted to also do the 2 plastic sail trim pieces that are part of the recall.

Hell I bet a line-x over the whole truck would look amazing. Ideally in a military tan/sand color.
