Damn wheel fairings :-(

I was in a parking lot today and noticed that my rear passenger side wheel fairing (I do not know the correct name) is broken. This will be my 5th one when I get it fixed/replaced. In all the others I ran over a curb or something but this time I have no idea how it happened.

does anyone out there in 3D printer land have a design for these? If all they do is redirect airflow to produce less drag then maybe I could use a softer material that won’t break as easily. Just a thought …

I just installed the fairing delete kit. I like the look a lot more without the fairings.
I couldn’t figure out how I broke my stock fairing either. Decided after the first one broke that I was done with those things. Now I bought the armor kit from Tesla. Excited to eliminate more plastic and stop worrying about stuff breaking.

I removed mine almost immediately. Terrestrial Armor Package on the way and the fronts will stay off. Those things are dumb. So are wheel covers. So much headache to gain a handful of miles of range. Not worth it.

That’s my attitude today too. Mostly just pissed off about the size of the check I had to write the IRS. Lol.
I mean. those fuckers aren’t even in the office right now. Shut down right?
I’ll be in a much better mood and willing to accept the dumbness of certain accessories in about a week.

Ditch 'em. First thing I did. Broke one of the front ones off parallel parking next to a snow drift first two weeks of ownership. So lame.

I lost one to a Goose! The 5th animal I've hit in Isaac. I couldn't swerve because of oncoming traffic. FSD didn't try to swerve either. $85 on eBay. then one of the hanging bolts fell off before i received it, so had to get replacement from SC. Not sure how much it helps, but it looked unbalanced with just one.

I really wish a vendor would produce a replacement fairing made of something flexible, like silicone, that would be more resilient to impact.

Well, I know exactly what I did to cause mine to fly off! NOT A DAMNED THING!! Simple driving on the freeway and it flew off! Hit nothing, but air resistance. I like the look (guess I’m alone on that), but it’s not a very smart/robust design/implementation.

Had mine removed like tonsils with the installation of my UP running boards/sliders.

I’m totally in love with everything about my Cybertruck, except the fairings and mudflaps. It’s such an amazing truck for off road and work, but its achilles heel are the fairings. While visiting Mt Baker I had to (proudly) park on a rock formation next to the completely full parking lot. “Rip”, went one fairing and a mud flap. Then last week getting to a hiking trail at Ebey State Park, “rip” goes another one. Just ordered the fairing delete kit from BestEVMod, and all the other flaps and fairings are coming off. Terrestrial armor package to follow.

I duck taped the last one to "rip" off and it has been holding pretty well. Tesla service saw it and said nothing. I imagine that the armor package is in my future as well, though I am not sure how far in the future that is.

No big deal. Knocked mine off for the second time a week or so ago. (rear passenger.)
Both times that happened when I parked close to the curb in a parking lot. Then made the turn out, not realizing or remembering that the curb was there and clipping it as I made a right turn.

Less than $75 to get it replaced at the service center. Part is only 15 bucks. So this time I had them order me a spare. I can replace it myself in five minutes.

I had one busted less than a week after getting the truck. Just buy the delete kit and move on. It looks better too.

I considered buying the delete kit. But the replacements are so cheap and the reviews are not good on the delete kit

I broke that delete kit during install. They were trashed before ever being properly installed. Save your money. Keep the fairings, take em off and go with nothing at all, or get the terrestrial armor.
