Dizziness after a drive

Its not motion sickness, its called disembarkment syndrome and they're different conditions. She doesn't feel nauseous.

I'm looking to purchase a CT. I've done two test drives and both times my wife is dizzy afterwards. Not motion sick or nauseous, just dizzy or floaty feeling. Like you feel after getting off a boat. I think its called disembarkment syndrome. Has anyone ever experienced this and found ways to avoid it. Its looking to be a deal killer if we can't find a way past it. Any help is appreciated.

Look up "vestibular system" to get insight to the effect it had on your wife. Some people are more prone to the effect than others.

I did a 5100 mile round trip, 99.99% on FSD to Vegas. I was prone to the same sense of what your wife experienced. Several times when we stopped to charge, while standing still, it felt as if the ground was vibrating, moving rapidly up and down as if there was something lightly shaking the foundation of the building I was in. It did not affect my wife.

Depending on the road, the speed I was doing (mostly 80-85) and the roughness of expansion joints in the road, triggered the issue. Good idea on changing the suspension settings and I'll have to try that the next time I'm on the same road conditions again. I've never experienced it before, although my blood pressure meds had increased months before the trip, but had to be scaled back due to it causing problems with a dizziness sensation. I believe that was what caused the problem for me, and took a few months to settle down.

Don't give up on the CyberTruck; It's the best vehicle I've ever owned.

My wifes wasn't a normal motion sickness in the cybertruck. It did work for her so I figured I'd post it.

I've gotten a tunnel vision type sensation and have given it to many of my passengers when I've accelerated from a stop in the CB. I had disembarkment syndrome after a 7-day cruise (my office building swaying for a few days after) and know the sensations are different, but I'd caution against any super fast accelerations until you've made the purchase or the DS has faded since it would likely just compound her reaction. (Bracing pre-jump and warning my passengers to do so seems to help.) GL . . . neither of you will regret it if you're anything like my wife and me.

Never had a problem, short or long trips with the truck, until my BP meds were increased too much. It affected my vestibular system as I mentioned. I had never experienced it before, nor have I had an issue since, but in my case it took months to recover. Unfortunately my trip to Vegas was in the middle of those recovery months...

It is a mild form of motion sickness. Read the link above to understand what she may be experiencing, and follow the recommendations about what not to do to reduce the effect, including some of the OTC medication to help with the motion.

Finally had a chance to do another test drive. We put the settings on. Chill and focused

Good luck! To be more specific, try…

Drive mode: custom
Acceleration: chill
Ride&handling: focused

Really try to ease off the accelerator so stopping isn’t too abrupt.

Finally had a chance to do another test drive with the settings you suggested. Went much better. Still feels a little different being an EV, but a feeling I think we would quickly adapt too. No lasting effects afterwards. I think she's on board now.
