hmm, I was wondering how reflective that light bar would be. I bet Tesla will bring a firmware update to lower the brightness in certain conditions. Or give us the ability to adjust it as needed.
Agree. I have the RGB light mod in mine so can change color and lower brightness. I’m just not sure the OEM LED is dimmable?

The front and rear lightbars (DRL in the front not the off-road light bar and the lightbar above the third brake light in the liftgate) have 60 individually addressable LEDs. You would think it would be relatively easy to have a toggle on the light control on the touchscreen to dim the front light bar when the headlights go on. Maybe even an intensity slider...

I'm guessing you have this?
That is pretty cool, but $2500 is on the higher end... I really hope Tesla just lets us have a switch for it or if dimmable a slider for that.

Oh it's for sure dimmable. I just don't know how many banks of LEDs there are, but they are individually controllable.

Yeah , I got mine awhile ago so didn’t pay 2.5k. Mine was actually the first one Shaun did that integrates with the aux frunk power. I also ordered a underglow kit from DD and installed it myself. Really like the setup, but do wish they were individually addressable LED’s so I could create some cool nightrider effects.

There is some adjustment to the lights in the service menu. Not sure if it does help with this issue though.

Keep painters tape in your truck.
Apply when needed.
Was driving in heavy fog last night and the front light bar made it quite difficult to see. I happen to have blue tape with me and did indeed cover the bar with it. Did solve the problem but boy did it look stupid. Hoping Tesla recognizes that there are situations whereby that light bar should be turned off and gives us a software switch for it.

Like...say for instance, when the headlights are on, the DRL light are off! Only need the DRL's in the day time and no matter how hard it is snowing in the daytime there wont be a problem! Elon needs to offer me a job.

You didn’t get the memo of a job offer from Elon Tusk? ? (Rick and Morty reference.)

Same issue in Buffalo last night. This is actually dangerous with the lack of visibility. I'm getting some black electrical tape, but what the hell? Tesla just give me a toggle on the screen!
