I put my order in Nov/23rd/2019 and order number is RN11288*, it a dual motor and I'm in Cali.

I know lots of ppl "ordered after" me have already got their big babies.

My question is I can only afford $80k and wouldn't want to pay the extra $20K for the foundation series, if Tesla send me email, that probably will be a foundation series, can i say I want to wait until the foundation is done and pick up the regular one? (I haven't get the email yet so I want to know how it works and prepare).

Thanks!

I just got the email and can't afford the $20k either so I'm just letting it sit. Worst case they cancel it, best case I win the lotto and can reserve it.

I haven't see anybody who actually knows what happens on Tesla's end.

I called Tesla immediately after receiving the email as I had the same question about whether or not I could wait. I was told this was my reservation and invitation to order. If I chose not to order they did not know when I would be invited again to order.

many are assuming they will do a set amount of FS or they will go through everyone who reserved and then start back again at the beginning of the reservations. Who knows. And who knows how long that will take.

sorry that probably didn’t help but again it’s all speculation…Tesla probably doesn’t even know what they’re gonna do.

What a circus. We want 80k version. But guy on phone says good luck.
So we buy 102k version to get it in 6+ months. I can't afford it. But I'm 81, I want it before I die.

youll go back in the cue, and once all the FS are accounted for they'll start at the top based on reservation number. you'll eventually get another email down the road (who knows when) when your RN is back at the top and others before you either pass again or place order.

FWIW, if you locked in FSD for $7k at reservation time, that $80k is actually $87k (pending it was still $7k additional when you placed reservation). So the delta for FS is really $13k. Pricing up the PowerShare/charging equipment as well as the accessories that are included, the expedited delivery going with the FS was in the $1500-$2k range, which I think is well worth it to take delivery in 8-ish weeks versus getting back in the cue and waiting....who knows how long.

I plugged a ballpark $3k for the PowerShare equipment you get with FS after I got the order email and hesitated like many others have...wanted to know what I was actually getting for that $13k uptick. All accessories/equipment accounted for cost-wise, I justified the FS order in March and just took delivery Friday last week - beyond happy with my decision.

Hmmmm, I have all my money tied up in a real estate project at the moment. I ordered a week after they started taking reservations and was about 500,000 on the list. I was surprised to get an email saying I'm ready to order my FS truck, which I'm clearly not ready for. LOL I will be ready in a year though, if everything works out as expected. I was hoping to get my truck next spring 2025 and drive it from NYC to LA and then ship it from there to Hawaii. I guess I'll call them tomorrow.

Thanks for your info, that was helpful.
