If anyone reading this has a perfectly fine and working windshield wiper, please comment. I have a theory that all of our windshield wipers are not working properly, but only the people living in areas where the weather requires a clean windshield often have noticed the issue.

I’m trying to figure out if it’s just my windshield wiper that sucks or if this is every Cybertruck. I’ve seen a couple comments from folks about the wiper and the jets that shoot wiper fluid. I live in the Pacific Northwest and it rains a lot as well as the roads are just damp and dirty. What I’ve noticed is that not only do the jets not properly spray fluid over the entire windshield, But the wiper itself doesn’t really contact the windshield near the top of the wiper. It’s acceptable for the driver even though still about 30 to 40% of the viewable area remains dirty. But the real problem is that the area that doesn’t get enough windshield wiper fluid and the wiper doesn’t fully contact the windshield smears dirt across the entire camera housing area. Making auto pilot and FSD unuseable even in perfectly acceptable weather conditions. I received my truck on Dec 23 2024 with a vin ending in 039xxx
My wiper works find in CO, even under snow, but holy cow does the washer fluid NOT. It just leaves inch thick lines and doesn't disperse enough liquid. Just had it in for service for a squeaky center console that creaks when going through turns, Service guy said it was becoming a known issues. Asked him about the wiper and the washer fluid issue and he told me to put it on my next appointment to look at. I'll update here once I do that but good news, I GOT MY WHEEL COVERS FINALLY. Took delivery delayed in April 2024 after they got the acceleration pedal rivet fix implemented.

During active rain, mine works fine, but when simply trying to clean a dirty windshield while driving, it sucks really bad. The spray jets are pitiful and don’t apply enough washer fluid to really clean the windshield, as it simply smears or streaks the dirt. The jets need to spray more volume and farther in front of the blade to allow it to soak the dirt before scraping the blade across it. My biggest concern is scratching the windshield!?

I live near Toronto and we use a lot of salt on the road. Driver side is okay, but passenger side is awful. I have to use a lot of washer fluid just to get it what you see in the picture.

There is no way that I could reach that far, and I wouldn’t try it even if I could because it sounds dangerous. How about if I do it standing still in my driveway?
The tip of the blade is what I grabbed. If you lean forward while driving, it's like 3 inches from your eyes. Well, my eyes. I am kind of tall.

But, yeah, it'd probably work in the driveway. I think all I'm doing is flopping the dirt off the blade. It may help that it's wet at the time, too.

That's about how mine looked! Try the Drop Flop. Worked for me at about 25 degrees Fahrenheit.

In Florida hurricane rain it's fine
In little wet roads it's not.
Changing fluid did help.
But I got rainX. Waxed it 3 times. It's better

Sounds like ~everyone~ up north struggles with cleaning a salty windshield. I am curious, in warm climates or warmer weather, has anyone gone mudding? How did the washer fluid volume work with dry mud? If that worked fine, then cold temperatures may be part of the equation. If mudders have/had the same problem of thin lines of clean in a sea of grime, then it's a definite spray nozzle/ volume issue.

Same for me. Lots of streaking on the passenger side. Seems the contact from the blade is decent but the washer fluid does not have a powerful spray and just seems to dribble out not covering the windshield at all.
UPDATE: I had the truck in for service and they replaced the wiper and wiper control arm. I was told the wiper control arm is a new revision which applies more pressure to the windshield. Upon first testing it does seem to clean better like I expected. The spray is also way better even spraying above where the wiper cannot reach. I'm not sure if that's from the new arm or the new wiper blade. The true test will be once we get some more snow and the roads are all covered in ice melt.

Have you tried a glass treatment like a ceramic coat or even rainx?

It's only winter where it sucks and matters. It works fine in the rain. If you are in a cold climate with salt on the roads it doesn't work well at all. It suckx.

My non FS wiper works/cleans excellently. Though sometimes it swipes and wiper sits down in the hood position, I rectify by using a cleaning cycle.

Curious on when your truck was built. I have a November 2024 that doesn’t work with salt. Not sure if it’s newer design than they had then.

Configured October 2024 and delivered early December 2024 if that means anything.
