Goodyear tires notoriously suck. We used to get discounts on them on our fire dept and you were lucky to get 12k miles out of them.

You have time… keep an eye on Discount Tire deals and IMHO keep and eye out for BFG KO2s. Those would be a great replacement for your tires. That will be my choice when the time comes.
you should get only EV tires. also they start off with less tread for noise and efficiency

EV tires? Why would I need EV tires for a vehicle that weighs less and has less torque than a diesel truck? BFG KO2s would work fine and last longer than the crappy Goodyear tires on the CT now.

I would agree with you for a smaller EV sedan, but the CT isn’t much different from a diesel on impacts from weight/torque/rolling distance. On a CT, heavy duty truck tires will be fine.

I received my AWD CT March 4th, it has 6772 miles on it. I'm a 5o+ old driver who drives normal on crappy so cal roads. I went into discount tire today to get them rotated. As you can see in the pic the rear tires have more wear. I asked about availability if one was damaged. All of Discount tires vendors are out of stock and one vendor told him they would possibly have more by July 17th not certain. I'm thinking of just ordering one to have in case I damage one. I don't want to have to wait who knows how long. To replace. The quote for all 4 of the same Wrangler tires with certificate would be about $2200. One tire alone without rim or mounting or cert is $409. I can't believe my rear tires are already at 7.

Those tire prices from Doscount Tire are almost exactly what they charged me for Model X tire replacement last month.

Exactly this. BFG is a great replacement. I might try the new ko3s when it's time to swap

I've never been a fan of Goodyear, in general, but it's a good idea to refrain from painting a brand with too wide of a wide brush. Every tire manufacturer has a wide range of products with wildly differing characteristics and while some have more winners than losers, and some the converse, they all make some really good tires.

The Cybertruck OEM AT tires are the first Goodyear tires I can say I actually liked. To be fair, I put a relatively low premium on treadwear (as long as the tire drives well). Long treadwear is not a primary sign of a quality tire. There are plenty of tires out there that can go 60K miles that are absolutely crappy, cheaply made tires.

Didn't read the fine lines and don't know where to check, what kind of tire warranty/coverage we're getting at?

Show me one crappy truck tire with a sweet tread that gets 60k miles. I will add that to my CT list for tires to put on.

My GY CT tires have almost 2k on them and are showing wear. They are at 52-53lbs as you have recommended in the past. They are wearing like every other GY truck tire I have seen on my RAMs and Fords. Early and short life with the tread showing wear 2k into it. Vehicle mfrs are generally notorious for putting crap on new vehicles because they are cheap. I’m guessing this plays here. But if they work for you, then great.

Best tires I have owned are Michelin Defenders and Wildcats. They last a long time. BFG KO2s are second to none. Outstanding long lasting tire that keeps the tread a long time. It’s also 3 peak rated… something I need in winter.

Just wondering… are the GY Tesla tires 3 peak rated (I honestly don’t know). But based on its early wear, I would bet not. But I am willing to eat my words if they are!

Tires for EVs have noise reduction and range enhancements. I bet you will definitely see a drop-off in range and road noise with any aggressive tire not made for an EV.

I can pretty much tell you the GY A/T tires on the CT are about as loud as any truck tire and same range. EV tires are specially made with stronger sidewalls, etc, because they normally go on a smaller vehicle which happen to be very heavy. Those smaller Tesla tires on the S3XY vehicles all should be EV due to the vehicle weights for the size of the tire.

The CT is a completely different animal. It weighs near 7K lbs and has at least 521ft lbs of torque. Guess what? Have a look at some of the diesel trucks out there. My F350 has 1200ft lbs of torque and weighs 8000lbs. Do you think the CT needs a more specialized tires than my Ford? Actually, I think the Ford probably will beat the crap out of the tires a lot sooner than the CT.

The tread on the GY A/T is as rough as any other truck tread. You will not see a range difference in the GY A/T vs any other truck A/T with as nice of a tread.

I never said anything about 'sweet tread", don't even know what that means.

The OEM tires are not 3 Mountain Peak rated. But I have driven on 3 Mountain Peak rated tires that were crap in the snow. And some manufacturers have tires that qualify for the 3 Mountain Peak rating but decide not to go through the expense of getting them qualified as 3 Mountain Peak tires.
