Got my email for the FS CT but decided not to order cuz it’s a $20k premium. I personally don’t see the value and have the patience to wait for the $79k version. To each their own.

I'm passing on the FS. I'm not mad about my wait. I want to see what the range extender does to how the CT feels/drives/charges. Or, if the extender will even be offered.

I'm thinking I'd rather spend $16k on that, instead of a FS badge.

Someone has to pay for all of the super expensive production machinery needed to produce the Cybertruck. First adopters who purchase the $100k/$120k FE versions helps out with Tesla’s financials.

Every 10 Founders Edition AWD Cybertruck’s sold is $1M in revenue. If you viewed Mr. Monroe’s Cybertruck video you know what I am referring to.

No one is questioning if it makes financial sense - selling fewer products at higher prices... duh.

The issue is that they are not actually honoring people's place in the line.

Imagine waiting in line for an iphone , or a pair of sneakers and when you got to front, you're told "pay 25% more than you planned or we'll take the next in line"... That's exactly what's happening here.

Think they will make FS as long as people buy them, they have a list of 2 million people, why would they not just go through the whole list and see who is willing to pay an extra 20/40k, along with flushing out those pesky 7k FSD reservations

There never was a line, it's just the same reservation system used for every Tesla model. and those who order early are in the initial delivery geographics and are given the chance to order the Foundation Series early.

JUST SAY NO!
If you were planning to get a beast and spending $100k anyway, obviously please go ahead and get what you want now!

I got the invite, but that's not what I signed up for.

Tesla needs to see that people will not play this game - especially after already waiting 4 years!

The sooner people stop going for FS, the sooner Tesla will send out invites for normal AWD configurations.
Sounds like propaganda paid for by significant others of purchasers. ???

Of course, on a serious point it is true. A for profit company will / should only build what the market collectively wants / expects. (I’m an economist btw.)

Good luck with that.

Keep in mind the interest rates are about to come down and the prices could go up as time goes on. So all the people skipping the foundation series might pay the same when they actually see a non foundation order window in 2025 or 26. Also the extra 20k comes with about $26,000 in extras that I would have bought anyways. I'm extremely satisfied that I ordered a Cyberbeast last Friday and can't wait to get it.

The Cyberbeast is a much better package right now if you want FSD and powershare. The dual motor is straight up pay for early access. It is equivalent to a dealership markup. We are paying the same $20,000 without $4000 in installation for Powershare and no light bar. The extra accessories we are forced to get also makes sure we don't get the $7500 that the normal dual motor qualifies for.

Your logic is correct, but with the Cybertruck's popularity, 140k is nothing for the crowd that has been buying supercars and luxury cars. With only around 60k Trucks coming out of the factory next year. Tesla is gonna sell as many Cybertruck at the highest possible price for as long as possible. What you want is for those that can afford it to buy it as soon as possible so that Tesla runs out of people that can afford it at this price and they will have to ultimately lower the price to trigger more demand.
Where do you people come up with these numbers? You are welcome to hypothesize 60K CTs in 2024 but you surely don’t ‘know’, any more than anyone else, and you should say so up front.

What about those that don’t qualify for the $7500 and don’t lock down the FSD price? People have different situations.
