Over the past week the external switch to open the driver door has become intermittent. I’d have to press the switch multiple times to open the door. It has become progressively worse. Tonight I questioned whether I would be able to open the door. On several occasions I would have to press the switch a dozen times before the door would open. I requested mobile service to fix the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

That’s the first I’ve heard of that problem. I haven’t experienced it myself. Maybe it’s a poor contact behind it and mobile service can fix it quickly. And it’s just the drivers door with the problem?

If not already a 'Thing' then Tesla could offer a 'Phone Home' door open via your 'phone key' or as an alternative, hold your keycard over the solenoid or actuator door release!
Then again, it could just see you from the side cameras and 'POP GOES THE WEASEL '
I'm no technician, so take the idea as you see fit. This of course is in addition to 'pressing matters'
In the future, people be sayin': What do you mean, you had to press buttons, and drive with a steering wheel' ( Uncivilized Earthlings)

The other doors work fine. The driver's door gets much more use. Still, I'd hope for a MTBF of > 1 million operations for a switch.

As long as the passenger door opens, I could get in, reach across the center console, and hit the interior door open button, though that's a PITA!

Tesla is designing cars to last for 20+ years. You should get 150,000 uses of door switch before even thinking about a problem.
The passenger side on my son's truck does not work and has to be opened from the outside until fixed by Tesla, put in a ticket.

I suggested Mobile Service. They want me to drive to Jacksonville, six hours round-trip.

That’s insane. Are they gonna be able to fix it while you wait? A loner doesn’t fix the 6 hour round trip.

“Mean Time Between Failures” is statistical, and does not guarantee specific performance.

If you have 1M hard drives with a MTBF of 1M hours, you’ll be replacing one hard drive every hour. On average. It doesn’t mean each drive will last 1M hours.

There are several other issues with the CT, including a intermittent "Safety restraint system fault - Service is required" alert. Hopefully they can fix everything in a day. If not, I'll have to go back to the service center to get the spare tire that I ordered two weeks ago but hasn't shipped yet.

Didi you get the spare and if you did, what did they service center do to “install” it?

Apparently the service center has to mount the tire on the wheel. I assume they also balance the tire. They strap the spare to the D-rings in the floor of the load bed. They put the case containing the bottle jack in the smugglers bay.

Okay, I feel like this could be handled without a whole service appointment but what do I know?

I ordered and paid for the Cybertruck Spare Tire + Tool Kit on March 22. The tire was in the vault when I picked up the truck on May 3. Hopefully yours doesn't take six weeks.
