I believe two reasons:

1) metal does scratch easy. And stainless is noticeable. All my stainless countertops at my restaurants are ridiculously scratched.

2) to add a glossy look, and/or be able to ceramic coat for aesthetics and easy washing.

Some of y’all not understanding SS may be dent-resistant, but it’s not scratch, stain, streak, uneven-patina, or road oils proof

can it be buffed, re-grained, and restored? Yeah

does it just wipe off with soap and water like a film? Not really

But unless you’re excited for a spotted, streaked, and stained finish - y’all have fun finding out just how unreasonable this PPF guy might be

The primary reason to wrap is cosmetics. It will not protect steel. It will also look less dirty than steel will with water spots fingerprints etc… Nightmare if you must have a tidy looking ride.
Here is the problem:

Nightmare if you must have a tidy looking ride.
Seems like therapy might be cheaper and much longer lasting.

Meh. I’m looking forward to my CT being dirty and trucky. Last thing I want to do is put a wrap on it that can be damaged by rocks. Tear etc. I’m going to enjoy all the rawness of my CT.

Not doubting that there are some folks that may have a need. What I’m doubting is the price charged when 85% of the prep and installation difficulties no longer exist.

mom not familiar enough to know what prep wouldn’t be needed

and I don’t personally follow the logic that the install difficulties are altogether absent - sure, the CT has more planar panels, but there are still in fact curves, and it’s not my impression that laying film over the even curviest vehicle is materially more difficulty than any other vehicle

but again, others here can educate on why the CT should take only 15% of the time to film compared to another similarly sized vehicle

Flat wraps don't adhere themselves.

Yes it's a little less complex, saying it's 85% of the job is done. ?

I wish.

As far as prep, you still need to clean the surfaces, that's like half a wrap job right there. Finishing still requires panel trimming, post heating.

And "flat" isn't always flat.

If the issue is just fingerprints, you can use a ceramic coat on stainless steel.

Many people do it on fridges and other stainless steel appliances to keep the fingerprints off.

It will also keep your truck looking cleaner for longer.

Ceramic coat seems like the answer to me, without the need to wrap it.

Xpel dealer here. This is the way! Lock that gorgeous stainless finish in and top it with ceramics. This is what I’ve been telling our future CT clients that don’t want to wrap.
As the saying goes, never ask a barber if you need a haircut, or a realtor if you should buy a home, or a car dealer if you should buy a car. In this case, never ask an Xpel dealer if you need to wrap your car. :ROFLMAO:

Just joking. Don't take it too seriously. :p

There is a hefty cost to being an early adopter. With time and competition, the price to wrap will come down significantly.
Tell me again the current purchase price of the Foundation Edition Beast?
Similar to wrapping, is that supply/demand or blatant gouging?
Asking for a friend!
