its very different. gas wont self ignite like Lithium batteries on thermal runaway. And you don't have to store your vehicles with gas in them. In fact many collectors don't store them with gas in them. and with ICE you can check for potential sources of fuel leaks. with batteries you have no idea until its too late. you know how you see these old car shows where they pull an old 1970s ford out of the field and they put a battery on the motor and some gas in the carburetor and it fires right up. That will never ever happen with an EV. if that battery sits for more than a few years it will be completely shot. You will have to replace the entire battery. That is why its going to be very difficult to be a collector of EVs and in fact if it does happen it will likely become very standard practice to completely remove the stock battery and install some much smaller removable battery system.

I first responded this with a "Yes".

After some thought I realized that, while it was a commendably concise answer, it could benefit from some explanation.

Consider the current situation with today's old collectible cars. Most would no longer be drivable (move), and might cause some damage while stored, but for the existence of a small industry that build reproduction repair parts, functional equivalent but improved technology parts, restoration services and education, and so on, effectively replacing long-lost manufacturers' support and obsolete technology. My neighbor's 1964 Mustang is living in his garage and he drives it regularly only because there is a support industry built for Mustang collectors.

I predict a similar industry will arise due to BEV collectors' willingness to pay for similar products and service in the future for highly collectable BEVs. So in the future, by availing myself of that support industry, I wouldn't have to worry about keeping a dangerous or inoperative BEV in my garage. With that let me change my answer to one almost as concise:

Yes, because my 30 year old BEV collector's car will not be dangerous and will not be immovable.​
