it is not even 5 seconds for me.Depending on traffic, road, and conditions, I can drive manually just fine (might slow down a tad) with peripheral vision for 15 seconds or so, more than it will tolerate when "supervising".
But not everyone can multitask safely (requires strict priorities). So they're erring on the side of caution.
Maybe 5 seconds or less that FSD complains you're not looking straight ahead. Which is less than some people can do without FSD at all. But other people aren't great even when the are looking straight ahead (ok, a couple of seconds to check mirror and instruments once in awhile). So FSD treats us all like we can't handle more than the less capable can handle.it is not even 5 seconds for me.
On the freeway today, my CT wouldn’t let me go above 85mi/hr and it displayed a small message saying speed was limited to 85. I couldn’t find a setting or anything, is this related to my strikeout?Received my first strikeout today. Got a warning to watch the road when I was grabbing something from the passenger side, so I’m guilty but I looked forward and then in quick succession a few more warnings, I don’t recall how many, and then a strikeout and no more FSD until I reach my destination when the attached message appeared saying I have four more chances. I’m wondering if it has trouble determining where I’m looking when I wear my reading glasses on the end of my nose… maybe it thinks I’m looking down, seems overly sensitive.

No. That's the max speed for Tesla's vision based Autopilot, whether it's FSD or Autosteer. On the freeway today, my CT wouldn’t let me go above 85mi/hr and it displayed a small message saying speed was limited to 85. I couldn’t find a setting or anything, is this related to my strikeout?
Those warnings always depend on conditions. If there's heavy traffic, you'll get less of a window. If it's a very difficult situation, like traffic + construction, it's absolutely unforgivable.Maybe my FSD is less sensitive than some of you guys. When I use it, I can glance to the left or right for several seconds with no warnings. I also have adjusted my music and navigation while using FSD with no strikes.
I ain't complaining.![]()
Is there a way to change the settings or turn something off so I can drive faster than 85? As when passing, etc…No. That's the max speed for Tesla's vision based Autopilot, whether it's FSD or Autosteer.
It used to be 80.
Then how do they read the instrument display? If it’s reading glasses, take them off?
Turn FSD off, pass, reactivate. Is there a way to change the settings or turn something off so I can drive faster than 85? As when passing, etc…
Still hilarious, paying $7k to $8k to have a car attempt to drive itself for your convenience, then the car is always more worried about you watching it, than it watching the road?!Received my first strikeout today. I think the issue is everyone thinks they are a better driver than average.Maybe 5 seconds or less that FSD complains you're not looking straight ahead. FSD gives driver profiles a safety score; the higher your score the less it will nag you.Maybe my FSD is less sensitive than some of you guys. When I use it, I can glance to the left or right for several seconds with no warnings. I also have adjusted my music and navigation while using FSD with no strikes.

Not sure if you're joking or not. I've seen no proof of this anywhere.FSD gives driver profiles a safety score; the higher your score the less it will nag you.
