Sheep well they get to know how to get sheared. National agriculture day is today.
Anyone that goes out of way to create such nonsense has a vested interest someplace.

I have to get back to literally flying and turn the autopilot off. This is nonsense.

and you can see he is turning the wheel slightly which will cut off FSD.
You could see in the original video not once was the vehicle actually in FSD either. There are several blue tell tail signs of FSD that weren't anywhere.

Interesting. But why didn't they make a foam Brick wall and see if a cybertruck stops?

Because that wouldn't recreate the original test, which was the point of this, also they probably don't have a Cybertruck.

TLDR:
Jerry rig everything and Mark Rober have both criticized Tesla's technology, with Rober downplaying its camera vision compared to LiDAR, leading to disappointment over their behavior and possible intentional oversight in testing.

In case you missed it Jerry rig everything put the trailer hitch through hell of the cybertruck trying to really throw dirt on the Tesla name. He’s a relatively big channel, but now mark rober who has way many followers 65m and decides to try and make Tesla camera vision less superior than LiDAR. I can’t believe there is so much going on with these platforms downplaying the amount of tech and engineering that Tesla has developed over the years. I’m actually ashamed of both channels for this behavior, whether it be for clicks or views it’s complete bs. Additionally during his testing he was only using autopilot and not FSD. I do t wanna say this was intentional but he’s a nasa engineer so something like that would never be an oversight.

I was like damn Rober was right from the initial test but then they did what I wasn’t expecting and I was honestly hoping to see and that’s testing the wall against latest hardware and software. When the cybertruck came to a stop I screamed take that lidar 🤣🤣🤣

Nice, looks like someone is recreating this. Hopefully we'll have a result tomorrow. Hopefully they use FSD.
Clip was interesting. Controlled testing would be required as different lighting conditions at times of day and clouds when items get lighter/darker than surroundings have an effect of showing distinctions. Look at this picture below.

Dramatic differences in just they sky alone.
Also look at the darker asphalt as the sun goes down.
Also even the grass color / darkness difference on the left is way different.

As well there are 10 of 1000s of AP/FSD cars on non HW4 (or AI4 if you are trying to PR it) hardware. I think Tesla has some future issues on their hands in multiple ways.

Tesla has stated that if FSD (not assisted) is not functional on HW3 it would be upgraded. How that actually looks we don't know. May be something like "If you pay for lifetime FSD we'll upgrade your hardware free" but "if you pay monthly we'll do it at cost" (spitballing, this has not been stated by Tesla)

Also yeah, they did multiple test but time of day was different. I do think he put more effort into it though than Rober did and at his expense (granted he does also run a Tesla 3rd party company).

That whole situation is very fuzzy. "HW3.5" maybe if they reengineer HW4 layout. Telsa been backed into a corner. They've changed their wording a few years back and there are various forum threads on that as they think they have a legal argument.

Certainly, HW3 upgrades are years away ... Tesla will hope you upgrade as well and will continue with end of quarter incentives for people upgrading. FSD transfers that were supposed to be a once thing and now get repeated quarterly it seems.

To be clear, it is unknown if camera only will handle more than reasonably nice weather. Even then I've had my FSD abruptly stop in sunlight glare depending on the time of day, hills, etc.

This is a great explanation of how flawed it was.
