I ran across this article today. Reading through it I thought it was all so familiar sounding: the best part is no part, rapid iteration, 48 volt architecture, reduced complexity, manufacturing in pieces, etc, etc. Has me wondering if Ford might get it right this time. Also, I thought it funny/interesting that Ford is getting into battery storage as well.

Definitely some parallels. But let's hope that Ford's "$30,000" EV pickup doesn't follow the same path as Tesla's "$39,900" EV pickup.

$30,000 is referring to how much ford will lose on each one

So very true, wait so very impatiently for four year only to get gouged in the pocketbook by Tesla.

At the end of the first video, there's a comment that the team is working "to make sure this product is ready for market in 2027". If Ford can actually deliver these during the 2027 calendar year, that would be faster than I expected.

The Scout pickup is also supposedly scheduled for 2027, and the Slate and the Ram 1500 Rev (an EREV hybrid) will supposedly appear later in 2026. The electric pickup market hasn't changed much since the Cybertruck was introduced in late 2023, but it could look different next year.
