And having a washer in the rear tailgate camera would be tough because it would require either a line coming from the reservoir or another reservoir plus the motor and parts. Where would those parts go? How much complexity would be added? How much more money would i have to spend on it? We are lucky to have a front camera at all let alone a washer for it.
But what if the camera gets dirty??? I mean, you couldn’t see anything out the back. It’s not like a normal car where the rear window never gets dirty, or fogged up, or iced over, or rainy. I mean, I’m sure EVERY car out there has been legally mandated to have a rear window wiper AND washer!

Oh wait, they don’t. The vast majority don’t Ok, ummmmmm…

I can't tell if you're agreeing with me or what lol

But I am going to lean with agreeing.

Ikr, I get annoyed when my rear camera gets dirty but then I just have to use my mirrors like a peasant lol

I never understood the bed camera on the r1t. Is it to watch for theives? To see if you forgot something in the bed? idk

For theives. Shut the vault. Vault open: sentry mode sees avenues of approach.

For remembering what you put in there: Just look? idk

Yes just to look. For some people using the truck where objects placed in the bed are too large for the tonneau cover to close it would have been nice considering we already have Sentry Mode.

If I were to use your example, why give us access for the cabin camera? Just lock the car.

Also if we’re talking about complexity, adding another line for the tail gate washer is light years simpler than the 48v, drive by wire, rear wheel steering, and the HFS.

If we are talking about complexity, they could have just placed the rear camera above the license plate in the rear bumper with a washer If they had issues with the longevity for a flex line.

Not to mention the tiny rear view mirror which is completely useless with the tonneau cover closed.

I'm 80% the cabin camera exists for driver monitoring and you only have access because it already existed so why not.

Yes, I am aware of that, but that wasn’t my point. My point was, Sentry mode has already been used for quite some time. So having no camera in the bed seems odd considering they made the Tonneau cover open and close at the push of a button. There is no way they thought that it would be closed 100% of the time.

Realistically, the tonneau cover was designed primarily to hit their range expectations for aero and “vault security” second.

it still amazes me how tiny, extreme corner case scenarios generate so much traffic! ? :ROFLMAO: ?
If it is a deal breaker - buy another car that has this feature;
if it is easy solution (as you say it is) - just do it and then productize and became rich by selling as accessory

Current sentry mode can see if anyone approaches your vault though so I'm not sure why you'd need more

To make sure dirtbikes /other items are staying put / tied down well
if you have a need to monitor your stuff real-time you probably already have an OCD, which means you probably already triple tied and triple checked that stuff is super-secure. speaking from personal experience.. it's time to trust yourself :)

I would if I could, however just like Tesla, other manufacturers have other issues and usually the grass is not always greener. They may have the basic features that are usable that Tesla has missed. However, in regards to Tech (other than the 360 camera and crappy auto wipers) and updates Tesla is #1.

At least with a Tesla, I won’t feel like I purchased a dated vehicle a year from now due to the software updates. Compared to Hyundai, Ford and even Hummer Tesla’s UI is light years ahead.

That would be me too, but it would be that one time I thought something was strapped down and I didn’t re-check would be the incident where it happens.

Okay, I understand the want to see that, not sure it soon much of an inconvenience to not have it though. What have people done up until now?
Circled back around to pick their bikes up off the side of the road, hoping nobody drove over them or stuck them in their truck. ?
