FS is closed, prove me wrong

Keep the hope alive! I ’m also 11284 and ordered on 1/18 in IL. I thankfully received my VIN 8 days ago 66xx.

I stopped into the SC this morning to have a look around and found 13 CT in the back. All VIN numbers were between 3100-4400. People are now in the mid 7xxx on VIN assignment, so hopefully they can get some of these new VINs out to the SC quickly.

Well, congrats. Hmmm 15 with those low vin’s. Must be a weird pipeline There are 3,000 more somewhere!!

crazy when we are left to figure it out on our own.

At this point it seems the RN is nothing more than an identifier, NOT a number like you get at the deli!!

I don't remember there being one, even with the original December wave of FS invitations

I got an invite on 01/18/2024 and didn't configure until 03/15/2024. So they give at least two months, haha!!

It's definitely like the number that you get at a deli. Except that this deli has different lines for different things. CA and TX folks got their own express lines and they started making theirs first.
There's was a special on some sandwiches, they got theirs next.
And then there's everyone else, split up into different lines, dependent on the state that you were born.

And of course, your number only is for the cashier. If your number gets called, and you don't immediately answer, the next person steps up to the cashier. But you finally get your order in and the ticket goes back to the kitchen.

And things come out of the kitchen at different speeds and a few items for a table come out, but the waiter must wait for the tray to fill up, before they can be delivered.


So RN is the line for orders. Once your order is made, then the RN is worthless. With your order number, it's the date ordered that becomes important.

Exactly! Too bad they allowed us to assume otherwise. My two other Tesla purchases both came earlier. One in 2010 and the other last year. Like the CT, the SC knew nothing until VIN was assigned.

just really disappointed because in the service app, and all my other contacts with Tesla, they have been way above average.
I ordered a PTCruiser when it was introduced. I called the dealer ever Wednesday and every Wednesday, he told me exactly where it was from start of the build to the delivery date.

Looks like ability to place an order for FS on tesla website is gone and now just rwd, awd and trimotor with delivery in 2025. It may be they have pick a stopping point of RNs they will give fs invite to.

Tesla.com allows you to make a Reservation for a Cybertruck. Most of us on this forum made that Reservation in November of 2019. That’s why we received invitations to Configure in late 2023 and early 2024 for Foundation Series. If you make a Reservation now, you will be at the end of a very long list of people waiting to configure.

There are those on the forum who got an invite and didn’t configure/order. Do they still have the opportunity to configure in app?

I got my invitation to configure 2/11/24 and purchased 4/11/24 so as of that time, yes.

I'm pretty sure that it has NEVER been able to order one on the public website. It has ONLY appeared to those with invites.
