Here we go. Not complicated. FSD v13.2.9 turns into the wrong lane.

It did this exactly the same way the last time I was at this location. This time I captured the video.

It makes me very curious about the driving by sight process. It would not do this if sight was all that mattered. There's no doubt about where the lane is. I see lots of posts like this. I'd love to hear the programmers explaination for the error.

Still love FSD, but you need to watch it like it's your teenager's first time behind the wheel.

I posted a similar issue on left turns. It cuts the left turn too sharp, and actually runs over a center median. Seems like it always a left turn.

I recent drove 5 hours from rural East Texas to central Texas. EVERY left turn on a rural road with clear yellowines, was dangerous.

The truck always turned directly into the closer incoming traffic lane. I cancelled and took over. On the one time I let it go, it just kept driving in the wrong side of the road accelerating as usual

Placed a lot more doubt again in FSD after yesterday.

@Bubblehead, is this with the latest version that has Grok (2025.26.4)? I noticed an improvement in FSD (even though no release notes saying so). Besides overall improvement, 2 places where it would choose the wrong lane are no fixed, and a "jerk" to course correct on a long curve going into my neighborhood has been fixed as well.

They've talked about a big, 10x parameter new model that's still being fine-tuned, which should be a big improvement. This version is still based on the version that came out in December 2024, and the last "official" update to it was in March, 2025 (so 4 months ago).

Yes, this occured after I updated to 2025.26.4 yesterday.
I can't say I've noticed any improvement in FSD. In fact, there's another place where FSD insists on pulling out in front of crossing traffic. It has happened three times in the same location. It's an odd three-way intersection where the crossing street has a sixty degree curve at a stop sign on the intersecting street. I'm stopped at that stop sign and FSD just doesn't see the truck

coming down the hill to my right. The videos below shows my front view and right side view. In the right side view you can see the truck approaching from the right. I think FSD should not have pulled out, but when it did, I gunned it to get out in front of the truck. This scenario has happened three times, but with the first two, I just hit the brake. Not fun.

Yes, the FSD often hugs the left side and on left turns it oftes drives way to close to cars or obsticles on the left.

I think fsd is more context based than rule based- but sometimes it gets the context wrong. For example, it will speed, it will turn right on red when there is clearly a no right on red sign… i experienced a circumstance where it turned into the wrong side of the road…but there are contexts where it is “allowed” to cross over the double yellow, like passing construction, or an obstacle or going around a parked car. In all of those contexts, it puts on its left blinker and makes a “left turn” interestingly enough. I wonder if once it is in that lane if it basically says “well im already here, must be ok to drive here” in some contexts. Clearly an error, and another reason why this version of FSD is supervised.

Looks like a bit of an odd setup there with that intersection. A stop sign for you with a left turn without stopping from the other direction and no stop on the right. FSd will struggle sometimes with the occasional unusual intersection.

Yes, mine hit a tall curb (median) on a left turn a few days ago, gouged the tire sidewall a bit and popped off the wheel cover. Only had it 4 days at the time. Don't trust left turns anymore, been too close several times now.
