FSD V13.2 bug - windshield wiper sweeps randomly

Mine has done the dry wipe many times on the previous two versions of software. I just got the new 13.2 and haven't had time to test it out yet, but it doesn't sound like anything has changed for the better.

the random wipe is new. I know it's a thing that did occasionally happen previously, but it was not like this before the 13.2 update. Maybe one time per 5 drive sessions. Now it's one time per 5 miles.

153 mile round trip from Palmetto Bay Fl to Fl Keys Islamorada for lunch, two dry wipes each leg. FSD full trip, performed flawlessly. Might just have to buy it. Now where did I hide that $8K?

I drove 175 miles last night on FSD with only one dry wipe. FSD did run up against the yellow dividing line a few times though. The road was straight too, not even corners while it hugged the left side of the lane. Accelerating when the speed limit increases is still a problem though. It slows down much more naturally when the speed limit drops, but it takes at least a mile for it to speed up again when the speed limit increases. In one case it never did speed up. It slowed to 45 for a small town, then saw the 65 speed sign, but continued driving at 45. I gave up on FSD after a mile and pressed the accelerator pedal.

just powered down the truck and rebooted. Hope that helps.

First off much improved a lot less interventions. Now for some reason my wiper fires off randomly. I finally got fed up with it and turned the auto wipers off. Anyone else having this issue?

Yup, definite bug. Going off on bone dry windshield. Never had this issue before this version.

Tesla repair center told me the wiper will attempt to clean or clear the camera if it seems dirty to the system.

It's maddening to turn on FSD and then hear the scraping of a windshield wiper over dry glass.

This was an issue with my ModelY also, but rarely happened. Keeping the glass clean at sensor-cluster should reduced this..

Seems to be the case after a night full of dew and moisture in the air.. just enough to loosen the invisible dirt and make a ‘mess’ which is detected.

This glitch has been present for some time but I have noticed that it’s much more frequent after this update. I haven’t had one drive since the update where it didn’t happen. Wouldn’t be a big deal if it didn’t smear everything on the windshield reducing my visibility.

Same problem here. It never did this before and I’ve had my truck for over six months.

140 mile round-trip and it did it every 5 to 10 miles, really annoying

Do you normally keep your wiper in a manual mode, @CyberRout66 ?

this is the reason why it is wiping…

your windscreen is dirty. Keep it clean.
