Thanks, I’ll give that a try
That happened on my Juniper and going into the service menu and resetting DAS fixed it. Not sure if that is your issue but it worked for me.
Thanks, I just reset the DAS and it seems to have fixed it, appreciate the help!

I took a trip from Dallas to Amarillo today via US 287. Used a variety of modes, including Mad Max and Chill. The dial came in really handy at slowing down while driving through small towns where the speed limit gradually drops from 75 to 35 mph. It was spot-on, even with a cruiser parked at the city limits (on v13, I always had to intervene or dial it way down, or else it would just keep on going close to 75).

It swerved several times where a bright paint mark was on the road. It's been done safely each time, just something I haven't experienced in v13 before.

Now for the shortcomings:
I stopped at Henrietta Supercharger, and it backed up into the stall, but was about 2 feet short. Had to manually back up using the camera so that the bumper goes over the curb.

The same applies to the next charging stop at Childress. Again, about a foot or two short.

Next, at a random QT for a potty break, it front-parked diagonally, taking up 1.2 parking spaces. I didn't fix the parking job, but I definitely think it would've gotten some finger flips (in addition to the regular flip-offs from the motorcyclists out there).

This is what I was concerned about, so the controller hasn’t been changed and these will be even more dangerous than before. Bummer.

No major issues in 2 days of using.

It is hesitant on unprotected lefts for me. Sometimes braking quick and then going. Seems unsure of the distances.

On right on red it was better. But tends to miss gaps in traffic that would be fine to take.

Parking can be a game of roulette. Sometimes it picks a good spot. Sometimes it takes a handicap space.

So far I love the speed on standard. It is way less sluggish than the old standard. It's pretty much how I would drive.
I don’t know how Tesla can see far left or right to judge timing. No cams are facing directly that way.

I took a small trip today first time on v14 - it pulled out of garage and driveway and into an apartment complex. The complex was very badly lit and I always have to put my tinted windows down so I can see. V13 always pulled into the apartments and then just stopped because I presume it didn’t know how to navigate. V14 did just fine and went through several lots and pulled in front of the correct building.

My whole trip was in the dark but I did notice it took left and right turns wide enough that I wasn’t concerned about hitting the curbs like I usually am. I drove on standard mode and it seemed to get the correct speeds - as I didn’t have to adjust it at least for this drive.

I am curious what is the best way to have it slow down a few miles now that the right scroll no longer does this?

Oh and I didn’t realize till now, that BAW never wiped 😳 like it always does.

On returning home, for the first time ever - it correctly pulled into my driveway, it did not go into the open garage though. V13 always pulled into my drive really fast and left the truck at a diagonal.

Right scroll still does this and well, just not with numbers. I think one of the reasons they moved it to the main scroll wheel from the awkward left/right press is because it’s now intended to be used more actively.
I changed all the way from chill to mad max and back today several times during my drive. Not for fun or experimentation but because road conditions favored those changes.
Just pretend it’s says 60, 65 and 70 instead of chill standard and hurry (add sloth and mad max to either extreme) .
In an urban non-freeway setting just adjust the context in your mind to 35, 40 and 45 or whatever those numbers happen to be contextually for that road.

I’m confused by your chart. Your willing to go 5 over 25(20%) when usually low speed limits are set because of neighborhoods and schools zones, but only 5 over 75(6%) when its usually much safer on those roads to go faster? And 80 is just 80?

Really do think we’re getting hung up on numbers when really it’s about how you integrate into the flow of traffic in context.

Got some Mad Max miles yesterday. My impression is that Mad Max is less aggressive and more consistent plus undeniably safer that my manual driving. Not a complaint; in the CT speed >80 feels so easy solid and safe etc etc I find myself up there driving away from nasty traffic clusters a tad too often.

Agreed. That said, there are two issues at play that profiles don't seem to pay attention to. First, there are posted speed limits for a reason and they shouldn't be ignored without reason. Second, I find that FSD profiles all have the same nasty etiquette/safety quirks that force me to disengage. V14 doesn't seem to have improved any of them; passing on the right, passing close to an exit, driving closely behind cars when looking way ahead shows lots of red lights (i.e., braking). And these are just issues on divided highways. They all relate to what you say about integrating safely into the flow of traffic in context. I think that FSD is too 'bottom up' in its driving and not enough 'top down'. I suppose it has to be that way with a statistical engine running things, but I would be so much more willing to trust it if I knew it was actually thinking about what it is doing before it does it rather than weighing the odds of any particular maneuver.

It’s great for long distance when you need to pass slow semis group. I’ll def use it more.

I'm noticing that when the posted speed limit changes, it detects this a few seconds earlier, before reaching the speed limit sign.
IIRC, in V13, it switched speeds at the same time it passed the speed limit sign, and did not always recognize the change.
This has shown that it is actively adjusting and recognizing the speed with V14.
Working like a charm, going through small towns in Texas on US 287 from Amarillo to Dallas (although I tend to use Chill through the smaller towns).

man this is one Ginormous update. Finally home and downloading. and downloading and downloading. been going since 1:00 this morning, and still only 38%

I did see in the release notes that
Upcoming Improvements:
- Overall smoothness and sentience
- Parking spot selection and parking quality

So everyone can calm down about what it doesn't have. They are working on it.

FSD14 in Cheyenne is significantly worse and completely unusable. The speed drops from 40 - 30 - 20 and the truck going west thinks the limit is 45 and going east is 30.
It tries to randomly change lanes too which is new.

FSD is great in more populated areas. Here, it’s still too dangerous to rely on.
