Yes, all current Teslas behave the same way as described (including the Cybertruck)

There are some issues with door handles and ice on other models, the CT might actually be the best design when considering ice. Time and testing will add clarity to the hypothesis.

I have a 2013 S with 225k miles. I'm spoiled. So used to door handles presenting when I'm near. It will be brain train to touch pillar. I'm 80, fun teaching brain new habits.

Once a month (my average) you'll have some random issue. Either the app needs reopened, or the servers are having a problem... In that case, you'll have to tap your phone to the pillar. Otherwise it will just work.

Absolutely loving the Cybertruck in my first few weeks of ownership. The vault has had zero leaks in the heavy CA rain.

I only have a couple gripes:

1) The area where the dash touches the door (when the door is closed) makes a squeaking sound over bumps in the road (does anyone else have this?)

and

2) There is no option for a physical key, unlike for the model 3/Y.

I am wondering if the 3/Y optional key would work on the Cybertruck, but I don't want to order it without having an idea if it would be compatible. Any thoughts?
Wow this is a big issue for me, how would I valet my car ? I have to leave my phone In the cabin ?
Or does it work on Valet mode in the app can someone have an answer ?

The 3/Y key would probably work. I imagine Tesla is planning on making a key with the cyber aesthetic eventually.

Yeah I just tried to sync my Model 3 Key Fob and it doesn't work....bummer.....
You get 2 keycards with it correct?
Odd that it would not work with a fob. A key fob option is pretty critical for using it on work sites with multiple people that may need to move or lock the vehicle, hand off the fob, etc. I im sure Tesla will come out with one of these

I imagine the dash is not supossed to actually touch the door. Is there a gap between these two items on the other side?

I thought Cybertruck came with a physical keycard (made of metal). Is that not the case? I keep one keycard in my wallet that is programmed to open and operate all three of our Model 3s. I was hoping I could program it to work with the Cybertruck too.
I believe I DID see that it came with a keycard, but it was a plastic one--- however, it was clearly styled with CT designs and shapes. I haven't actually heard of anyone gotten a metal keycard, but that would be cool, it can sleep next to my Titanium Apple Card.

i have the cnick ring as a backup key and I love it. It's waterproof too. If you're having problems with your phone, make sure you enable all the permissions and don't let it put the Tesla app to sleep to save battery etc

Obviously not a keycard or Fob, but I did see that a new version of the Tesla App will allow the use of Apple Watch as a key.

Do you know when that will be available?

I am not sure tbh, I hope it happens soon. I will have to be extra careful not to forget my phone when it does come. I think bc it's my key, it's kept me from leaving it behind.
