yea. the manual release that every non-tesla owning passenger seems to find and use inside of any of my Tesla's instead of the powered release. Even after I inform them, they reach for the manual release
Right? CT is the worst of them all. Everyone reaches for the manual release as the proper button to use is like 12” in front of it…

“Designed to fail?” Really? Is that a typo?
No. Are you habitually one who chooses words from a sentence and decides what someone meant by the sentence based on ‘your’ chosen interpretation of those words?

in the event that the redundant SBW systems are rendered inoperable there has to be failover mode (Plan C) that is triggered. For example, we are told by Tesla that a failure of the 4WS system in the rear will result in the rear wheels being locked straight.

Given the truck’s behavior when experiencing other failures- the blaring klaxon, the Red Screen Of Death admonishing you to pull over- I have a hard time believing that the response to total steering failure is to floor it and aim for the nearest tree.

Still, it is a computer, and shit happens. But even if I believed the steering failed without warning nor mitigation, which I do not, the crash scene suggests an excessive and unsafe speed for a residential street.

Drivers that overestimate their skill often blame the machine. Hopefully, Tesla brought the receipts.

I think if my steering failed, I would slow down.
This is because you don’t understand time dilation. Full send towards the nearest tree is the only reasonable response, relativistically speaking.
