Powershare updates:

– Powershare Home Backup customers can temporarily simulate a grid outage using the "Go Off-Grid" button in the Tesla app

– When you enable Go Off-Grid in the Tesla app, your Powershare Home Backup system disconnects your home from the grid

– Once you off grid, your Powershare Home Backup system uses any available solar power and energy from your vehicle’s battery to power your home

They had it initially then removed it. I'm glad its back, but I wish they can put time slots on it so you can go off grid during peak rate hours and back onto grid power when low rates. Kind of like when to charge the vehicle.

Cybertruck isn't intended for daily load shifting and that would void the warranty:
"Using the vehicle as a permanent, stationary or long-term power source or backup; "
"Using the vehicle as a permanent or long-term power source with signs of unreasonably high energy throughput that may be inconsistent with the mileage driven"

Let's hope this is coming in a future update....

I don't think they will, since it will drastically increase their warranty liability like @mongo explained above. The best answer is to add Powerwalls to the ecosystem.

No, but to give credit to Tesla the amount of hurdles they have to jump through to get this feature to market is unbelievably high. Most people have no idea how insane the certification process is (and for good reason).

Also, there are 10s of thousands of electrical districts across the country; each and every one of them are different, with differing governing bodies, and loads of red tape. It will be a long, hard fought battle.

For us owners that already have power wall systems and gateways, that are waiting on the software to enable power share usage:

How do you like this it's going to work over Wi-Fi? And what order will the energy come from?

Do we think the truck will activate power share in an outage and work in tandem with the power walls? Or, do we think the power walls will deplete to a certain point and then the truck will activate or the opposite?

So in need of this for our house and area when releases.

I think the latter is more likely. Deplete the walls to your set reserve like 20% and then access the truck.
what actually worries me most is the finicky relationship my UWC has with my WiFi . Benefit of the doubt to Tesla but I’m not pumped about hanging the whole energy fate of my home on software that poorly refined.

I was told by someone at Tesla that the feature will come with a Powerwall update and an app update with “lots of new settings”. Use your imagination, but I’m guessing setting the priority between truck power vs PW power.
