this is the BS response I see while my truck is in the shop. I don’t even have a phone case, know how to place a phone down, and it happens even in the night during the winter. Why did they stop replacing them? Is it really just an IPhone problem?

(Updated: After trying the mat for a week; so far my iPhone 16 Pro didn't overheat, and it did charge up to 100% after a road trip. Fingers crossed.)

After reading the advise from another fellow in this forum, I went ahead and ordered this $15 silicone 'Cybertruck Wireless Charger Mat' from Amazon.

It seemed to solve my phone (iPhone 16 Pro) too-warm-to-charge problem. Those little grooves on the mat surface were acting like tiny heatsinks, and helping to cool down my phone a 'little' bit. It looked good and was easy to clean too.

I tested it in the other day when it was 100F outside, and my phone was charging without over-heating.

I will keep testing it for a few more days, and see if it really works.

Fingers crossed.

I think that may have been me.

I have just never had an overheating problem, ever, with my iPhone 16 Pro Max, and I did order that silicone mat off Temu, actually, so that may be the deciding factor on why my experience occurred?
??‍♂

I’ve had a silicone mat like that for over 6 months. Mine still overheats, it made literally no difference for me.

Although it looks OEM and cleaning is now super easy! Highly recommend!

I have an update. I asked for the updated wireless charger at Yorba Linda California Service Center and was told, by Jesus via app text, the charger has to be inoperable. I said I never use it because the phone (iPhone 15) overheats and it never gains percentage points anyway. I admitted it does show a lightning bolt when it's in the charger. He said no, so I asked for a price in case I want to buy it myself. We FS risk takers get no respect. They find a poorly designed part, fix it, and don't offer it to the OG owners in the 100k club LIKE THEY SHOULD.

took mine in and this was the reasoning they gave for not replacing:

Concern: Customer states: Other · Interior - wireless charger overheats phone when charging.phone has overheating alert. requesting replacement part 1877045-00-C to see if that fixes the issue.

Repair Notes: The customer reported that the wireless charger was causing their phone to overheat and display an overheating alert. We conducted a thorough diagnosis but were unable to
replicate the issue. No repairs were made as the problem could not be verified during our inspection. Customer mentioned the revised part number for the inductive dock but the heat efficiency improvement is marginal and is not recommended to replace based on concern. If customer insists of replacement the replacement will be customer pay as this is not an upgrade to the inductive dock

what actually seemed to helped me the most was getting the windshield and other windows tinted. (I also have a silicone mat). since I did that I got much less overheat alerts.

kinda lame but there you go (I have a 2025 awd)

While Googling about phone overheating while being charged, I found that this car company put an air vent on the charging pad, and used cool air to prevent the phone overheating while being charged. Interesting idea.....

I have the black color one.

...

Updated: For my iPhone 16 Pro; I have found that if I closed all background apps (by swiped up the apps in the app switcher,) the phone wouldn't be as warm while being charged. I also turned-off the location services of unnecessary apps on my phone.

With above done, my iPhone 16 Pro was much cooler while being placed on the Cybertruck wireless charger.

I just put in a service request for this for my April 2025 build CT. The estimate says: "Diagnosis: Low voltage circuit integrity check."

I called BS and asked if they will have the Gen 5 part number in stock.

Service said they have the Gen 5 part on hand so the visit should be productive.

Can you share the relevant portion of your invoice with the part number when you're done? I was told two weeks ago there is no replacement part.

But then again my SC refused to rotate my tires and skipped out on other work. I did get my extra slat for the tonneau and a second spare (had to burn off that Powershare voucher) after fighting with them about the second spare. They didn't want to give me the second spare since they "couldnt see it in the system". I sent them their own invoice. I'm thinking my SC is a bit too backed up.

Sorry, Ewelon. That sucks.

I’m using the heck out of the sunshade holders and clips you provided. They are awesome! Thank you!!
