I took mine in for service for phone overheating and not charging. I’d get the charge icon to turn on, but did not charge at all for the 2 hours it was connected. They replaced it with a Gen 5 wireless charger. Didn’t notice much of a difference. Phone still gets hot but charged 2% in like 30 mins that it was connected.

Tesla wake up, retro the Model YL wireless charging pad with air fans, into the Cybertruck.

Does anyone remember when iPhones were having reception issues? Yeah, Apple actually told their customers they were holding their phones wrong!
Yup, the famous "Antennagate" era. lol

I asked about the wireless charger repair at my local Tesla service station. They responded by reading an official notice from Tesla that said the new part has no charging benefit. They said they would change it at my cost if I wanted, but basically hinted they'd be mad at the hassle of doing the work if I wanted to pay out of pocket. I believe they quoted around $280 for the part.

I got mine replaced for free under warranty but I wouldn't pay for it to be replaced.

I just think it is funny the official line is "the improved part has no benefit."

Unless the grooves mean less metal and it is a cost saving benefit, why else would they make a new part?

I think it might depend on how old your truck is. Mine was a gen 1 part because it was built in Dec 23.

I had my charger replaced last month and the phone is still overheating. Does anybody have the part number for the new version? My gut tells me they just put the old version back in. Is this the new or old part number 1877045-00-C

Curious what phone you have. That is the new part number listed early in this thread. I am having mine replaced tomorrow and it is the same new part number you listed. I really hoped this would fix the overheating issue.

With the combination of using this silicon center console charging pad and making sure no background apps are running on my iPhone 16 Pro, I haven't had overheating problem so far. Fingers crossed.

It is not ideal, but I will probably live with it for now.

I didn't try shutting background apps off but I got this pad and it didn't help at all. I'm also in Florida and its 90 degrees here all the time so that could be part of the problem too.

Not sure why they did not add cooling vents for Cybertruck, 2024 Model 3 or 2026 Model Y. My 2021 Model S had a cooling vent directly above the charging pad and my phones never got hot. Worked like a charm.
Yeah the Juniper should have had the vents. I have the same problem with that car but it's not as bad as the Cybertruck.
