When opening the frunk today it seemed to have gotten stuck. Closing and reopening got it moving. But that’s a first. Could it need lubricant at the latch?

Happened to me many times at first and my SC in orlando replaced the latching actuator and latch. Unfortunately the issue persisted after this so i dealt with it but noticed i just have to wait a couple seconds before it decides to open. Atleast It happens rarely now.

This actually just started happening on mine too. I took everything out of the frunk just to make sure something wasn’t getting stuck.

Thanks for posting. I guess I’m in this club because this is happening to my frunk as well.

Happens about 50% of the time. Was a bit embarrassed when doing the light show/dance moves for my sister and frunk decided to stop dancing mid close.

Started happening to me a few months ago. Pretty much does it every time I open it.

Encountered this issue in July. Driving 15 mph for 2 miles was embarrassing. Found an article that explains how the service center deals with this.

Instead of drilling through plastic, used a portable endoscope camera on an iPad to fish a metal tool to release the latch. I’d probably would suggest if Tesla could release an update to trigger the 2nd step latch release instead.
