I know there have been some here who have posted about their experience with Tesla taking their truck back. I'm 99% sure my GPS problems won't get fixed so I am curious about how the return process got kicked off and how it went, good, bad or ugly?

TIA

Going thru the process. Repeated SC trips for recurring issues relating to conditioning the battery causing critical errors. Towed in twice and stranded on the side of the road once. First two trips were over a week in the SC each and last one is ongoing, 44 days and counting. I requested buyback/lemon law and expect to hear something back this month. I am working directly with SC management. So far it is relatively easy process as the issues are well documented. I will gladly update as the process continues.

Once this processes thru I will be purchasing another CT. Still the best vehicle I have driven and had zero issues with the CT loaner I have been driving during this process.

Tesla bought back my Foundation Series beast. Had multiple service center visits for different things failing and panel adhesive failures. Big repairs and failures.

The buy back is teslas way of service recovery and also avoiding a lemon law issue. Tesla offered it to me. I didn't ask about it.

Process is easy. No negotiations or anything. You agree, they make a contract, you sign, drop off your truck and walk away with a check for whatever you put out plus no more loan. Just plan to have a replacement vehicle ready when you drop off the truck.

yeah, same as others; had recurring electrical issues, so after two bricks and four fix attempts for the same issue asked the Service Manager to start the process (or at least request it, it's handled by 'corporate', the Service manager is the intermediatory). All-in took maybe 3 weeks, was very fair, very easy. We didn't have a lot of miles on the truck, so financially worked out quite well.

Tesla repurchased my 2024 fs awd after multiple issues. Easy process handled by SC manager.

Buy backs help with customer satisfaction. Many owners order another CT with the funds soon afterwards.

Update…In Missouri Tesla has ten days from notification to repair the vehicle per Lemon Law. In my case, asking for the buy back highlighted my issues and solicited additional high level engineering support. My issue was resolved (bad wiring harness) so far and I plan on keeping the repaired truck (zero interest loan, paid FSD). Tesla also approved the buyback of the issue persist after this most recent repair. Tesla support and engagement throughout was great. Hope everyone has this level of support and engagement.

That's awesome, I hope that is exactly what I get.
