Haha! No, I ruined the couch by putting lead-acid batteries under it and it outgassed enough to eat holes in the upholstery.

AHA! That explains what happened to some greenery in my great room. I had 2 large lead acids with a inverter/charger acting as a UPS hidden under some fake plastic plants and one day not long ago I noticed the plastic plant looked somewhat melted on the underside. This is all clicking now!
