If they recall this it's because of a bunch of snow flakes crying about something else they need to maintain.

My OEM off-road lightbar is unbelievably bright. At 100% I suspect it is close to 50,000 lumens. I haven’t left it on for more than a few seconds at 100% but I will in my garage and see if it generates any heat.

I'd recommend reporting it to NHTSA so they can conduct a thorough investigation. Posting in these forums will just get you denialism by the usual suspects.

Complaints can be filed through NHTSA.gov or by calling NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

I've been driving in mountain snowstorms for over 4 decades and, regardless of the vehicle I drove, there are always conditions that will reduce headlight effectiveness. Even when we had hotter filament-based headlights. Do you know how we dealt with it? We cleared the snow and ice with our gloved hands.

People are so pampered and have such intense feelings of entitlement these days. Either that or they are just "journalists" in disguise who are setting up the groundwork for a story about Cybertuck owners having trouble driving in the snow at night because they were too lazy to clear their headlights (or they claimed the snow and ice was too "stuck" to remove).

Just dumb.
Did you see Car n Driver picked up the post about magnets ruining the 30X steel on CT and named the posters handle?

I wish we could identify which forum members these are who twist our posts into BS articles.

Maybe one of the innovative engineers or DIYers here will build a headlight heater from the resistance wire technology used in common heating pads/ blankets, wireless and battery operated?

You are aware this forum isn't private right?

I didn't read the dumb-sounding article, but we don't need to have the forum members who are pushing BS narratives to be named in order to know who they are, they expose themselves.

BS is BS.

Have you tried not driving in blizzard conditions?

NHTSA would recommend you not drive in those conditions.

Is this a joke?

I have other vehicles that don’t have this problem so how would it not be a design issue with the CT?

idk of any trucks that are incapable of driving in a storm. In fact, most trucks are designed with the possibility of harsh conditions in mind.

I'm know most testa recalls can be resolved via software update.

But as the winter comes around and complaints of snow covering the lights to make almost impossible night driving in heavy snow. Do you think there will be a recall for visibility? And how would Tesla resolve it?

Maybe off road light for all Cybertrucks activated by snow?
There won't be a recall for this.

It is a widespread winter driving hazard that has worsened with the advent of cooler-running LED lighting. It has existing for years and has not resulted in recalls. It affects all vehicles depending on the severity of the weather (wind/precipitation/temperature) and the vehicle surface features. You can easily find complaints about snow/ice-reduced headlight functions on Jeep, Silverado and F150 forums, with discussions about temporary (get out and clean them) and longer-term (various heater approaches) solutions, just like I'm seeing on this forum.

This is a real issue that I've experienced firsthand. The problem is not because of cooler running LEDs but rather because of the design of the headlights being inset and on the snow-collecting shelf that the bumper creates. I would wager that even the heat of Halogens would be unable to keep snow from accumulating in this place while driving.

Another issue is the DRL. Having the DRL on while it was snowing, with snow covering the headlights, was a dangerous combination. There should be a way to turn off the DRL with the headlights on. Having it on while it was snowing was like driving with your brights on while it was snowing. The snow reflected off the snowflakes, creating glare, making it even harder to see.

So, you are claiming that this is only an issue that occurs in "blizzard conditions"?
Where did I write that? Heavy snow accumulation on your vehicle is illegal to drive around with anyhow.

Weird, but pretty much all trucks are incapable of driving through a storm given specific weather.

You don't know of any? Geez. I guess trucks are never disabled by weather and all of those I see rolled over on the side of the road or stuck trying to ford a puddle or crushed in a snow drift or ...were mirages.

OP said heavy snow, not blizzard. This issue exists even in light snow due to the lack of heat from both the lights and having no ICE while also having inset headlights and having a ledge that allows snow to easily accumulate in front of the headlights while driving even in light snow. Anyone who’s driven a CT in the snow can easily observe this, as has already been discussed by others in this thread, on this forum, on X, and on Facebook.

You have zero experience with this, yet you have no problem telling people on here they are wrong, doing the wrong thing, or that they do not understand.
