Ok, so finally picked up the new 2025 base CT (core wheels, gray interior) - did the basic walk around - wound up leasing it for 36mo/12k miles (got $1k referral/loyalty credit, $7500 incentive baked into lease), vehicle looked clean, accepted it - road test checked out....but, despite having the one month FSD trial, despite accepting all the FSD terms under Autopilot, and allowing the cameras to calibrate for 30 miles, there is NO FSD AVAILABLE.

That means no grey or blue steering wheel icon! Going to try to get service to take a look at it tomorrow without an appointment. Even tried recalibrating the camera - it will do basic autopilot stuff (but won't maintain lanes).

Sales dept texted me to say vehicle can need up to 50 miles to calibrate, but I have 67 miles on the odometer.... Any ideas out there?????? Help!!

PS - I've driven dozens of different cars, still far and away the best (and most unique) driving experience ever had.

Could be a software glitch. You've driven enough miles it sounds like to calibrate the cameras. Mine needed less than 30. You have tried to enable while NOT actually driving the truck right? That is you cannot enable it as you are actually driving down the road. Other than that, I'm sure service will be able to quickly resolve.

Yep - must be enabled when car is in PARK which is how I did it - otherwise it's greyed out in the settings menu. Service dept told me if it's not activating tomorrow, then bring it by.

Let me just say how impressed I am with this car (did overnight demos before I bought it) -- > my biggest concern now is that Tesla will stop making the C/T or another model very close to the experience, or we will need repairs and parts will have long delays or be unavailable..... As others have said, I think we're all lucky to be living in a time when we have this kind of technology available in a car/truck.

They would sell more, if they only could get people to come in and test drive them. I wasn't even considering a CT - had a model Y and went in to test drive a model X - but then I drove the CT, and it ruined me for even considering an X. 2 weeks later, I'm driving a CT off the lot.

I too had little to no intentions to buy. But once I test drove it, my 4 year old MY got immediately traded in. I love the truck. My worry is that it will slowly wind down in total units sold, and maybe a year or so down the road cease to be manufactured at any reasonable volume any more. That would worry me about parts, service, and of course actual value in the future. So much for being the first to dive into new tech/toys... I knew that going in...

Check your software revision. Maybe that’s holding you up. Reboot. Hold both scroll wheels in.

Exactly. It's not really a truck sometimes, it's just a rolling computer.

I tell my employees not to call tech support (also me) until they reboot once.

Same issue here. Got my CT (same specs as yours) earlier this week. Still no FSD. 115 miles now. Tesla sales reps say be patient. Fingers crossed they turn it on/push update soon.

Otherwise fun truck so far.…

Nice to know I’m not the only one with FSD issues out of the box.

I did on the first day. No luck, I’ll try again tomorrow morning.

Funny the Tesla ‘support’ folks did’t suggest a reboot. They said wait until you drive 50 miles, make sure connected to WiFi, and then to be patient as it can take a bit.

Maybe that's my problem, no wifi in my garage or on the road.......?!? If that's the case, maybe they could put that in the freakin manual... But if you have premium connectivity, why would you really need wifi for that?!?!?

I have good and bad news for you.. The good news is that this is not an uncommon issue and there is more than likely nothing wrong with your truck.

The bad news is that it probably won't be an overnight fix. But, that would also imply that there is something wrong so that's probably a poor choice of words.

What's happening is that if you go in to your software tab and take note of which software version you have that it will line up with the non-FSD version. In other words FSD simply isn't installed yet. Check the latest versions on notateslaapp.com and you can see what you should have at the very least listed with the latest FSD version.

On the software tab, make sure you have ADVANCE selected. Hook up to a wifi, even if it is Starbucks and let it look for an update, although it should be able to check without it. Keep in mind it will only check for a FSD update once every 24 hours. If it isn't available then come back tomorrow and try again. There is NOTHING the service center can do to help you with this.

If there is an update available then you will NEED to hook up to a wifi and then let it install. It may take up to 55 minutes to install, but you can download it on a public wifi and take it home first before installing if you need to.

As I said, the SC won't be able to help. You just have to wait until the update is available for your vehicle. They all ship with the base software version that does not include FSD. When you get the update then contact Tesla to have them reset your month of FSD so you get the full month that you are due. However, my advice is that if you're just itching for that free month then you just need to buy it outright. Bottom line is that you are going to love it and if you can't afford it then you may be in the wrong vehicle.. JS...

Hope that helps!

Hey Redfire,

Appreciate your help - but you're incorrect on several of your assumptions.

Actually, all CT's are being shipped with the FSD 30 day trial, and FSD fully installed. My vehicle had Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Software v 13.2.4 installed from the time I picked it up. I also clicked on the FSD tab on autopilot, accepted the terms, and set up my FSD the way I like it.

There is also a Software update available (2024.45.31.10), which I'm downloading now over my hotspot on my iphone, and it will include FSD v 13.2.6

I have an active FSD subscription in my model Y. What I can afford, or not afford, is my business. But if my CT comes with 30 days free of FSD, I'm not going to turn down the $99 bonus. Activating a "paid" subscription would not necessarily clear this fault, unless you have some inside information from Tesla's engineering dept about this issue.

Perhaps the update will help.

Thank you for your help though!

Great, but I'm willing to bet the update will solve your issue. The previous version may not necessarily have activated the FSD. It sounds weird I know, but it's what's been going on.

That's why it's important to take note of which software version you're running, not just FSD version.

Just to be sure thought you did mean 2024.45.32.10?
There's isn't a 2024.45.31.10 that I'm aware of.
