So I ordered a Cyberbeast at the end of last year (FSD will be transferable to next owner) and just arrived yesterday at Delivery Center.

With current Tesla changes its exactly $15,960 Extra to keep order as is with luxe package vs ordering another one with current policy.

I do use FSD regularly but this truck will not be a daily and normally keep my cars max 4 years, I really don't plan to put a huge amount of miles on it and will not go out of my way to supercharge when I can just do it at home, closest supercharger is 20min away.

Frankly money is no issue but waste not... I don't see the value of Luxe package for me except the feel good of no monthly FSD payments and Unlimited supercharging. Is there something I am missing on this deal because I see some people prefer to keep the the Luxe package as great value...

Let me know your thoughts... thanks!
JC

The luxe package as I said elsewhere would take a crap ton of service and supercharging to make up for the price change.

I have an S with unlimited supercharging and sure it is great. The car is also going on 9 years old. Cross country travel is free, and as the car ages it takes me about 3 hours more compared to a new S to travel cross country. Car is old, louder, less comfortable than a new car that is 9 years newer.

I would say you might be looking at a long breakeven time and maybe many many years out depending on how much one drives. Also is the 4680 a 500k in mile pack? I have no idea, nor does anyone. I am on pack number two replaced at 40k. So my faith is a little different.

15k is a lot if you're only going to keep it 4 years. Fsd would be $3,996. Connectivity $396. So the rest would be service and Super Charging.
i was gonna do the math but this guy alr did it ^^^

even if u plan to sell in 2030 and not daily drive it?
So I don’t know how anyone knows to plan for when exactly they will sell a car, especially one with as much functional utility as an off-road competent truck that requires very specific aftermarket upgrades to make it highly useable as a leisure vehicle, but even if I did, I expect the price of both autonomy and energy to increase in a non-linear fashion.
There are very few price lock deals available to consumers for a reason.

Am I wrong or does the luxe not also come with windshield coverage for four years($1776) and tire coverage for four years($960)?

I would keep it but I've already supercharged over 12k miles in less than 9 months.

Windshield coverage isn't a benefit states that have $0 deductible windshield replacement.

Not sure how you put that price on tire coverage. It's $20 per tire at Discount tire.

The cost through tesla is $20 a month for their coverage on tires over the 4 years. I don't have it as i don't think the tire coverage really covers anything

Key Components of the Luxe Package
Full Self-Driving (Supervised): Included for the duration of ownership, allowing for advanced navigation features. ($99+ a month)
Free Supercharging: Unlimited, complimentary access to Tesla’s Supercharger network.($varies)
Premium Connectivity: Four years of service for live traffic, streaming, and in-car internet.($99 a year)
Four-Year Protection & Maintenance Plan: Includes:
Wheel & Tire Protection: Coverage for road hazard damage.($20 a month)
Windshield Protection: Coverage for repairs/replacements.($37 a month)
Recommended Maintenance: Includes annual services like 4-wheel alignment($275 a time), cabin filter($?), and wiper blade replacements($75 a piece).

Tbh u are probably right. I’m just picturing myself going to the supercharger every week for 10yr and then some freak accident totals my car and I lose luxe and all my time I spent up until then lol

I genuinely believe that and put my money where my mouth is near the end of the foundation series. I traded my first foundation for one with free supercharging back when Elon was in DC and they couldn’t sell their face to a Photo Booth.
It wasn’t cheap but I’m very happy I did it.
