I’m getting my high voltage battery replaced this week finally after 5 weeks of my truck sitting at Tesla waiting for parts. I was informed by the service team that only the battery is being replaced and not the pcs2 along with it. I was told it is highly recommended to replace both if the battery goes out. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks.

You can ask nicely, but if you don't have any previous errors in the service logs, they will not likely replace until problems arise.

Theoretically, the replacement pack includes all the Ancillary Components, including the PCS. The service center doesn't swap all those parts over.

As in: they(pcs, and ?) come with the replacement battery assembly kit but the techs only use the new battery pack? What do they do with the rest of the components in that kit?

As in a replacement pack includes all the components in the sealed cover already assembled. Nothing gets transfered from the original except for the restraint module.

Don’t have the truck back yet
Say I received the 1783970-TX-M version
Grok says it’s the dry cell pack

The PCS is inside the sealed battery pack? I didn't know they ever opened the battery packs to service components inside them. I thought they just part swapped the entire assembly battery pack.
There are two main compartments in the full pack assembly. The cell area never gets messed with, but the PCS, ACJB, DCA, ... all live under the cover accessed through the vault.
Pryo Fuses are accessed from a cover under this section.

Isn’t the PCS contained in the battery pack “hump” in the rear? If they replace the pack, I’m assuming the new pack would have all the BMS AND CHARGING hardware in it?

closing out my hvbatt replacement adventure

did not have to wait a crazy time for the pack delivery and install
have AT tires and charged to 100%, states 330 miles
local service center did a great job, clean, neat, no issues
according to Grok, it now says dry cells are being prioritized for model ys, cybertruck deliveries fall 2026 should get the dry cell packs, meaning i received the hybrid cell pack
hoping NC30 4680 packs in 12 months, giving the CT 440 miles of range, then im trading in
ive had PCS change, HVbatt change, no more please
love the cybertruck

Even with a better cell, there is no promise that Tesla won’t reduce the cell count to keep the 330 range with a newer better cell. Just saying don’t get your hopes up for a 440 mile pack.

Yeah. If you want 440 miles you should buy a Lucid. :)

Currently starting 4680 manuf in Gigaberlin
NC30 for Cybertruck and Semi is roadmapped 12 months or less, this is rhe 440 mile battery
Semi is pulling along this development, takes the semi from 500 miles to 650 miles
Biggest change is how the NC30 responds to towing, much better, helps Semi and thus Cybertruck
Then NC50 for the Roadster
This has been the roadmap since battery day
And Tesla is delivering, dry 4680 is an industry first
