Not to interrupt the sidetrack discussion, but do we have any data on homelink? It is a must have for me. Also nfw on paying a subscription fee for myq.
LOL, until I got to your text I was astounded at just how quickly the room got sidetracked from the discussion. Wow!!!

So you've got a choice, get the Cybertruck or not. MyQ is your only option.
For me I can have a good old manual door opener. A small button one in the truck. MyQ is not my only option. Or one could have a manual door with a key. I personally love the really big iron gate with a chain and a big lock. Double gates are super awesome. Really long driveway like 1/4 of a mile then another gate. Those freak looky loos out. (my personal option)

I would hope that there is a contingent of future Cybertruck owners that don't know or ask what homelink or MyQ is. That would show some real penetration of the truck group outside of the MyQ/Wrap/Fake carbon insert group.

Seems odd to exclude Homelink, it came on my 2021 Model S Plaid and I use it a few times a day. For $80-100K and cheating out on Homelink? I'd rather have Homelink than the aero wheel covers and soft-close liftgate. I mean we don't even have door handles, that's gotta save a few bucks.
It was included in the early Model 3s, but got dropped soon afterwards. By the time the Model Y came out it was a $300 add-on.

Tesla has been moving away from it for a few years now.

I don't like those old-fashioned remotes. If a thief breaks into your vehicle then crowbars his way into your glovebox, he now has your registration with address and a remote.

Wow, for that kind of $ I guess I will leave the ole clicker in the car!
My cheat was just to use the MyQ app from my phone. I think you can set up a geofence, if i recall. As soon as you pull up, garage will send command to open.

Not a bad idea, a little scary if you park outside your garage one night, but a solid option as opposed to paying through the nose to use the garage door you paid for, in the truck you paid 100k for

Yeah. It was more of a workaround when I stopped paying for the subscription and I was too lazy to change "clicker" battery.

Even with the subscription, it didn't work that well for me. The wifi in your garage has to be pretty strong, and the network on their end always had issues from my Model Y. Things may have improved, but- sucked about a year ago.

I wish you could transfer it from the 3 to the CT. I have one in my 3 that I don't need anymore.

Standard homelinks from Model 3/Y won't work in Cybertruck probably.
(Because of 48 Volt system - so I saw no listing of it in the parts list so far, has anyone yet?)
I was wondering why it is not there, makes sense now.
