Hey all,

As a very very early reservation holder, I've wanted this truck for a very long time. I did rent one for a few days last year and it just made me want one even more. I think I'm finally getting close to actually buying one, if our old house sells...

There are obviously several incentives going on right now that make it more attractive, I'm looking at purchasing a Foundation series Cyberbeast. I would want FSD anyway, and it's a little bit attractive for me to have the "limited edition" version with all the accessories.

There are two near me, with white (which i want), in inventory. Is there a way to see what the build date or VIN of these are? Is there any reason to steer clear of the FS at this point? Does the "2025" have any improvements worth worry about? I'm pretty interested in the free supercharging - I intend to do a lot of road tripping in truck.

Thanks in advance.

FS had a bunch of issues, most were fixed with recalls. You cannot get the federal $7.5k off if you get white.

If you really want white and plan to use superchargers a lot, I'd go for it if I were you- they'll fix any problems and there are a bunch of upgrades for FS.

If you want to save $20k+ short term, get the version that qualifies for the federal discount.

Tesla is known to just always silently make improvements so we don't really know what all they've changed since the latest FS's.

Friend is looking seriously at a discounted FS, but two calls to tesla and a stop by at a service center and he can not get the VIN # and is unwilling to take an early production one for obvious reasons.
How to get a VIN on inventory CT is baffling, used to be all inventory cars you could simply click and see the VIN, my guess is the CT vin is being omitted due to production timeline issues?

When I purchased my Model Y in September 2023, I went to a sales/service/delivery center (Aurora, CO), and had the sales staff pull up a list of VINs matching my desired spec. In my case, I wanted to verify "F" and not "A" as I wanted to ensure I received a Fremont build, due to matrix headlights. I selected one of the three as my preferred vehicle, and the sales staff assigned it to my account.

You should be able to do the same at any sales center. Good luck!

Correct, they won’t give out the VIN, but I was able to get the build date after speaking to the delivery center on a discounted 2024 CB before purchase.

Cyberbeast doesn't get the rebate anyway, I don't want the base AWD (without white and the Cyber wheels) so I'm not too fussed about missing the rebate, thanks man.

I'm thinking I can put down the order fee and then in the week or two to arrange financing they should give me the VIN or at least the build date right?

Is the idea just to avoid "early" FS builds? When were the last ones built?

What build date was yours and have you been happy?

Once you actually order you will get the VIN. Then you can call the delivery center and get the build date. Most of the FS Cybertrucks will be between Sept-Dec 2024. Mine turned out to be a phantom Foundation Cyberbeast, tactical grey, cyberwheels, FSD. They biffed off the Foundation badges, but left all the extras except the mobile charger inside. It’s awesome. Will
Need to make a SC appt to address anything that needs attention, but all the recalls should be taken care of already.

Oh and mine was built Sept 2024.
I ask have an AWD Foundation with a June build and they are both about the same fit and finish wise, which was very good, except that the recalls were already completed on the CB

I didn’t think the buffing out FS to sell as normal was a real thing ?. Did they replace the foundation logo on the dash also?

thanks for confirming.

Remember those here who said it was disinformation being spread by the mainstream media.
