I read an article that illustrated how to jump start an ICE with a Tesla. Ya don't try to crank the ICE with the Tesla 12v battery but instead, let the battery charge up the ICE battery, then disconnect before cranking the ICE. Seems to make sense.

Necessity creates ingenuity… in a pinch I have jump started old cars using a Tesla MS and MX. I wouldn’t do it with the CT’s 48-V battery, although suspect it would work without causing damage - I’m just not going to be the test case. In each jump situation, it was one of my antiques, from the ‘50’s, so before electronics. There were no issues, worked fine, just needed to make sure I sent positive to ground on the ‘52 MG.

Since that era I make sure to have a small jump pack handy and stored in each vehicle - but that also requires an added item on the annual maintenance checklist to ensure they remain charged and ready. It’s axiomatic that we can’t truly own anything - we only have temporary custody - and in reality, the things these we control temporarily actually own us - because they control our most valuable asset - time.
