How will actual ordering / what does our “preorder” mean?

Particularly not when you consider 2 out of the 3 options we had to choose from are likely not going to be available at launch and may never be available.

Think of it like a club and the pre order list is the queue to get into the club. Once you are in the “I can order my truck club”, you are inside. You are in until you get your truck. Once the queue of preorders empty, they open the doors to everyone.

This was more where I was curious! Thanks and I can see this being it.

So like me being at 250kish, I wonder how long I "get in the club". Like do they let everyone in at once but take regard to when you put in that 100? Or is it in order? How do they know when someone isn't really feeling the club so they let someone else in?

Batches. They send out email alerts to batches of preorders that match the regions they're supplying, in order of preorder date.

They sent invites to the config page in waves. As people leave the “Club” they send new invites out. That the queue between ordering and delivery is always fairly short. There might be 5,000 people in the queue at once with new people getting added as cars are delivered.

Look at it as chasing the numbers. If your goal is to have a 2 week window between order and delivery:

• Estimate how many cars you will produce in that time.
• Minimum number of people to add to the list is equal to production. If take rate is low, adjust the number of people you add up.
• Deliver trucks
• Repeat from start

Consequence of having a list that is a bit too large is small so err on the side of a big list so you can keep those trucks filled.

What do you think makes it “Not the same truck”?

I haven’t seen a ton of solid evidence there is a radical change to the platform. Tri motor becomes quad… that’s a trim change.

The common guess/ consensus is there will be a unveil event sometime in the next few months(my guess is on or before 12.1)

It’s possible people with very low reservations might only have a few weeks notice about pricing and final specs.

The rest of us will likely have months or years to prep.
