How would you like to see the Franz hammer/ball test rectified?

Ok, but you have absolutely zero evidence it’s not. So you do have something that says yes, and nothing that says no. And again, you have at least 4 different types of glass on the current M3. (windshield, roof, front doors, rear doors and back windows.) So there is proven evidence of Tesla using different glass, even on the same vehicle. Why assume the zero evidence case?
Just an observation, that is all. They made a big deal about it at reveal but it has since gone unmentioned despite there being the opportunity to talk about it. Then again they are in low volume production out of a makeshift facility so even if it has been omitted it doesn't necessarily mean it won't be there once it goes in high volume production.

Problem is we don't know if the Semis actually have the armor glass, last we heard was at the reveal, it wasn't mentioned at the PepsiCo delivery event nor on Jay Leno's drive.
Huh? You expect Tesla to reiterate every single feature of a vehicle everytime they feature it? The semi has a shit-ton of features they have never even told us about to begin with.

You may be unaware, but the idea to use a stronger windshield on the Tesla Semi predates the Cybertruck and was born out of early research Tesla did on the class 8 trucking market. What they learned was that federal law is stricter with commercial vehicles in relation to cracks in windshields and that pulling semi's out of service to replace cracked windshields is a significant expense of semi fleet operators. Tesla did a financial analysis and determined the extra expense would more than pay for itself.

For that reason alone, it's unlikely that Tesla backtracked on that decision.

Anything is possible, but what shocks me is how quick some people are to contradict what Tesla has said, based on absolutely nothing (like that they don't mention it everytime they talk about the Semi). It's illogical in the extreme, almost like people are looking for a way to discredit Tesla when all they end up doing is looking foolish themselves for making claims with nothing to substantiate them. It's like they want Tesla to hold their hand like a kindergartner and constantly reassure them that nothing has changed.

Well this sucks. So the only way of knowing my Cybrtruck windshield is shatterproof is to...try it out? So if it isn't I'm struck with a busted window? Oh yeah, then everyone is gonna know I'm that guy that just had to test it...
Sheez. I need a new hobby.

There is no such thing as a shatterproof window and I'm not sure why so many say the glass in the Cybertruck is supposed to be shatterproof. All Tesla has ever claimed is that it would be made out of a different kind of glass that was tougher than standard auto glass. It will still shatter if the impact is severe enough.

Also, as far as I can tell, the glass on the CyberTruck is the same double-pane acoustic glass they use on all of their vehicles. Tesla is going to try to use as many shared materials as possible on all of their vehicles to cut costs. Making a completely new kind of glass just for one vehicle doesn’t make financial sense.
The strength of glass is not solely dependent upon the thickness. The iPhone glass is 0.5 mm and very impact-resistant.

All automotive glass is custom-made, so I'm not sure how much "economy of scale" is achieved by shared materials.

Considering they did reiterate on just about every feature, yes. I would have expected a fleeting mention on one of the two occasions. Particularly given the fact that, as you yourself stated, it's a big deal to trucking operations. I also clearly stated it's an observation not a statement of fact, I'm making no judgement on whether Cybertruck will have it or not.

The irony must be lost on you.

Watch the Semi reveal. They are already using different glass for different vehicles. One of the upgrades to the M3+ is the "acoustic glass" goes from just the front door windows, to the rear doors and back window. They have been using different glass for years.
Ok, fair enough. Get Franz to get his balls out again.

Balls out first, then hammering. Wait, what are we talking about again?

Sorry but I strongly disagree with having any children involved especially really young ones.

Lots of children all over the U.S. and the world will see the video where adults are encouraging they (children) and some will think it is OK to throw steel balls or rocks at glass. For sure the really young children will not understand the concept of testing that the video is portraying.
yeah it will become a tiktok craze/challenge.

@&$! TikTok challenges. I hate that shit.
Well, you could apply a non-lethal charge to the SS skin after a piezo shock sensor senses a sharp blow to the glass. But Teslacam could also post the image, followed by AI recognition and targeting the students school, with AI generated ridicule video sent to tiktok. This video will be part of their cyber resume.
