I see so much hate for the CyberTruck on the internet, thought I'd do a simple poll.

They have doubled the availability of one, while introducing another,

There just isn't anything magical here.

If you only look at the new stuff, yeah, they're selling more. But they made more.

And they're barely selling more than Tesla S/X among four ev models.

That's how the car industry works isn't it? You make a product to sell, then it sells and update the old inventory to reignite sales. Either way, your original argument was luxury items are doing poorly. When in fact, oh there's companies out there still doing well if not better than last year.

Since I also slightly cherry-picked this based on a company near and dear to my heart. I'll also say, Audi another luxury brand sales have dropped, even though they have increased their EV production. Audi EV and ICE sales as a whole. Another company that I follow closely. I also realize their inventory is completely over-priced and out dated. New models to come in 2025 and 2026 respectively. Hopefully this boosts sales dramatically since they are behind.

Those people don't exist, you just made that up.

Nobody believes everything Tesla does is perfect. It's ridiculous when you think about it.
Say 3 things you dislike about Tesla.

Don't be fooled by regional data. The crown of "Best Selling Car in the World" is a global title. Sure, until the year is out, Tesla cannot claim to have the best-selling car in the world for two years in a row but, the fact remains, they are on track to accomplish it again in 2024.

Let's revisit this in January and see how it turns out! Until then, Tesla holds the title of best-selling car in the world because it's an annual title. No other car maker can claim it currently.

I think they are a bit off the pace, but. Noted, see you in January.

Say 3 things you dislike about Tesla.
1) I own 4 Tesla. They don't need service often, but when they do need more than the mobile service tech can do in the field, I have to drive an hour to get to the nearest Tesla Center. I'm sure we will get more local options in the future but I wish we had them now! The last time I've been to a Service Center with any of our Tesla was a couple of years ago, except when I picked up my new Cybertruck 3 month ago.

2) The phone app is pretty convenient for scheduling a needed repair, but it can lack flexibility. Sometimes talking to a person is better and while that is an option, you need the actual phone number of your local Tesla Center (which is generally not easily available).

3) I dislike the way Tesla designed the Off-Road modes in the Cybertruck. It seems a little clumsy to go through three screens to enter off-road mode.

I could go on and on, but it would serve no point because these things have been endlessly hashed through. Sometimes you just have to realize it's a take it or leave it situation. My latest Tesla, the Cybertruck, exceeds my expectations by such a huge margin, the complaints above pale in comparison. No other truck even comes close.

No, you have just been reading too many media stories with a negative Tesla bias.

Even when Tesla was the first American manufacture to win back the coveted title in many decades, the media barely noticed. This was an unprecedented and willful ignoring of a stupendous achievement by a homegrown automaker. If you base your analysis of Tesla on media stories, you will always be wrong.

Thank you for that. I'm glad you did this exercise. Thank you.

All I can say is for every negative comment, I see 20 or more excited smiling faces on the road or parking lot or business I drive up to including the DMV when I had to swap my tags. I didn’t even know our DMV folks could smile ? It’s the most photographed vehicle in my town. I enjoy driving it every day. For all the recalls my Jeep, Ford, Dodge have had this is nothing compared. Just did the recall repair for the wheel falling off at speed on the brand new jeep?. That’s not scary at all. And it still has a glitch in the interface system that randomly resets all the settings back to factory.

So for all those folks trolling and throwing shade, who cares. They don’t have to drive it or buy it. From what I can tell, there isn’t a vehicle out there that’s perfect but this one is very entertaining

1) I agree with #3 though I haven't gone off road. As someone that learned to drive in a 4x4 I miss the simple choice of H4/H2/L4/L2 plus gearing. It would be nice to have some equivalent preset modes we could select instead of having the full monty configuration (which is great for some I am sure).

2) I absolutely hate that Tesla cannot figure out how to make windshield wipers work properly, or to have configurable backup mirror settings.

3) A recent quip with the Cybertruck is that my audio and browser settings aren't associated with my profile.

I live close (30 minutes) to an SC and they have been very friendly so that aspect of service is not an issue for me. I would say that Tesla service has been as good or better than Toyota, Lexus, or Jeep (which were my previous vehicles over the past 30 years or so).

If I had to speak openly about my gripes with Tesla it wouldn't be about the cars but about Elon Musk's mouth. Other CEOs may have radical views but we never hear them because they aren't outspoken. I suppose I would prefer to stick my head in the sand with respect to the views of various CEOs, and maybe I would prefer that with Elon, but not at the cost of his admirable qualities.

Same, or even more skewed: I have heard exactly two not-positive comments over four or so months of ownership. one was a valet commenting that it was the first one he'd seen (back in March) and saying thoughtfully, I haven't made my mind up about it yet; and the second was a kid saying, I would never drive that! every other comment has been positive. well, the ones they say within earshot or to my face, anyway

There seems to be an endless stream of Cybertruck haters on the internet, including publications like Jalopnik and others. Even on this forum there seems to be a lot of dissatisfaction. So I thought I would do a simple poll.
I think it would be illuminating to add a question to this poll about if the CT owner was a truck owner prior to the CT.

I was with you until you complained about Elon Musk's "mouth". I appreciate that he's willing to put his neck on the line and call out injustices, bad actors and other threats to democracy (like the political correctness that is eroding our rights of free speech that is so critical to a properly functioning democracy).

I don't always agree with him, but I also don't think taking on important roles in space, auto, and AI should prevent him from exercising his right to say what he thinks. I find most of his views spot on point (even if the media likes to twist them into something they never were).

Make no mistake, he's not racist, facist, homophobic, sexist or a neo-nazi. All fake media narratives designed to turn people off to the changes he's driving to help humankind transition to sustainable energy.

I would guess they're just jealous. I don't have a cybertruck, but if I did, boy would I be happy with it.
