I would suspect since I'm a Tesla stock holder, Tesla would have to spin off the so called "Halo" brand, and so I would automatically have stock.

Do you think companies can create a product using their funds, and then create a totally new brand to sell it under, and create new stock for nothing?

You are correct if Tesla did that.

But what if Elon Musk uses his own money to start another company, like he did SpaceX? A lot of commentators think Tesla = SpaceX. No, they were formed from different monetary sources and exist as separate companies. If you are a Tesla shareholder you own nothing of SpaceX.
