I just want to commend tesla for making the big ass wiper, which is probably the best windshield wiper I’ve ever had and also for making it easy to replace the wiper when necessary. Mine broke due to a car wash incident. That was my fault. I ordered one the same day and a few days later it came. It was only $80 including tax and free shipping. I installed it during the commercials between innings of a baseball game. It was that easy. The manual says to replace it once a year but I think it can go much longer than that. Plus we only buy one when everyone else buys two.

I agree, I have a spare sitting in my garage waiting for the change out, but I'm over a year now, and original is still working fine.

As posted in a different thread, someone ripped my wiper off to vandalize my CT. To the point where the attachment point of the broke. Thankfully the metal wiper arm was unharmed. It seems like they designed the wiper itself to be the first point of failure, which is great.

As you said, the install process is quick and easy, its worth following the directions so you know what to do with the fluid hose.

how was it that cheap for you? I am about to place an order from Tesla Parts ... (getting a mirror cover and front wheel fairing) - I feel those two are reasonably priced, and the shipping is $18 to Massachusetts .. which while expensive, not crazy...

but when I added in the wiper (which is $75, ouch!), the shipping went up to $61 total?? So it is like $43 for shipping the wiper blade? WTF Tesla? What am I missing? Do I need to order directly from a Tesla shop and then pick it up there? Kinda sad at the moment about this...

Maybe order it separately? It did come in a long box that UPS usually surcharges for but my Standard Shipping was free. I noticed that the parts warehouse for Tesla is in the Los Angeles area like me, so that could be it too.

I still think it's a good deal for what you get. Quality part. Most wipers don't dispense fluid either. I remember rumors of $180 per wiper refill when we first got our trucks, so my brain was prepared for $180 and thrilled when it was only $75.

It looks like you need to order it from the Tesla Store to get free shipping. Tesla parts is different.

I replace my wiper blades as soon as I notice reduced wiping performance. 18 months later, my Cybertruck is still on the original wiper, I have gone over 4 years on my Model 3's without a problem. I figure if it ain't broken, don't mess with it.

Good to have a spare on hand because you can't grab one at AutoZone in a pinch.

Very carefully.

Well, not really. There’s a button release to detach from the arm, easy peasy, but you must also detach and reattach the washer hose.

When I did it, I pulled out a few more inches of the tubing to perform the R&R, and shoved it back again when done.
