It's this point that I'm questioning " connect to another car". The Mobile Connector can't do that. It just plugs into the wall to allow charging the truck.
I think he meant you can charge another EV with it by plugging it into Cybertruck's 240V outlet in the bed.

But, yeah, it's like he's making everything sound far more confusing than it needs to.

HUH? What's confusing about what I said to the OP? It's simple. LOL

you will receive a cable for 120 volt and power share to vehicle to vehicle and adapters. You will get an email for Powershare and Wall Charger from contractor/Tesla. Do not plug into just anything. Use provided with Truck on delivery day, it will be in the vault to plug into outlet to charge your truck for the time being.

Where / how does that "connect to another car"? I see it just connecting to wall plugs.

The advice to install a NEMA outlet while you wait for your Foundation Edition Wall Connector to arrive is not that good of advice because it wastes time and money. And time is money. A good 50 amp outlet costs around $80
So you think that it's better to throw away $475 than a $20 socket and $120 GFCI?

Assuming that you don't replace the NEMA 14-50 socket, it can be used for a variety of other things, like plugging in campers. But most will replace it and lose less than $150, although if you leave the GFCI in, it's a $20 loss.

It plugs into the 240 or even the 120 volt on the Cybertruck using the adapter and the charger end of the cable for vehicle connection connects to second vehicle you want to charge.

The scary part is, I have yet to see/hear of one person getting the PowerShare Gateway V3 and the Universal Wall Charger installed.

Not one. So that means, you might be waiting awhile before that install happens. You need a plan
Do you think that is because so many people getting these early CTs are previous Tesla owners and already have one?

WARNING WARNING! Anyone at this point (and I'm sure most everyone on this forum) that is looking to power their house with Powershare should be looking at the new "Universal Wall Connector". The normal "Wall Connector" apparently does not support Powershare. This is a direct quote from Tesla's description of the "Universal Wall Connector":

  • POWER YOUR HOME DURING AN OUTAGE FOR OVER THREE DAYS USING TESLA POWERSHARE TECHNOLOGY. CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR CYBERTRUCK ONLY

This terminology does not appear in the 475.00 Wall Connector. Just saying....

Good catch, I forgot about that! The current Gen 3 Wall Connector (not the Universal) doesn't have the needed low voltage communication wire/terminal to enable the Home Powershare feature. I'm guessing that Tesla will be shortly releasing a non-universal (NACS) Wall Connector that is just like the Gen 3 Wall Connector but with the needed communication wire/terminal so people who don't want the "magic dock" feature of the Universal Connector don't have to pay for it.

In any case, the Wall Connector that comes after you buy a Foundation Edition Cybertruck will have that communication wire/terminal and it would be easy to swap a Gen 3 WC out for the new version (about 10 minutes). Most people will not want Home Powershare so the older versions will still be great for charging EVs or for a second Wall Connector in a home with Home Powershare.

That's just a standard mobile connector then. And like I said, it's just plugging into the wall (of the bed). It's NOT providing bi-directional charging.

You mean the picture that looks like this?
Tesla Cybertruck Install Home Charger Before Delivery? 1708298360097

Mobile Connector (tesla.com)

This CAN NOT support bi-directional.

The ONLY thing that your picture says is that it is "compatible with PowerShare at 32A max output" Which means plugs into the NEMA 14-50 outlet in the bed. But so does the Mobile Connector.

Ok, listen, the cable the FS truck comes with connects to the 11kwh with adapters to charge and use for multiple things. Also can bidirectional charge. I'm done explaining. You won't listen that's your problem. BTW, your order has been canceled ???????

Yes that picture of the equipment my neighbor has and he used it to charge his other tesla. And so did Sean on you tube and so did So many others. I saw it for my own eyes. It's the only plug tesla gives you to charge another car. Only one. No other. Jesus man.

So give me an example. That's all that I'm asking.

So far you've said you can use the cable to plug into a NEMA 14-50 plug to charge a Tesla. (or anything with a NACS connector).

What else can it do?

There's a HUGE difference in this and the PowerShare wall connector. The wall connector, once communications has occurred, will allow by directional current flow.

Did you look at the Mobile Connector? What difference do you see?

I don’t think owning a Tesla factors into getting a Cybertruck early. I have never owned a Tesla and I got my VIN on February 18th and the truck is at Dublin, CA service center awaiting to complete inspection.

I think the PowerShare and Universal Wall chargers are NOT being shipped to the certified Tesla installers. If someone has a business to install these types of things, you would think they would be scheduling these things right away. There are not that many Cybertrucks on the road today.

If the installers had the equipment and were super busy, they could at least schedule something 3 weeks or 6 weeks out. The fact that a VERY small handle of people of heard from their installer and ZERO have actually had an installation, tells me there is a supply or production problem.
