Sure (even though it was crystal clear when I said it the FIRST TIME)!

>>>That we hadn’t heard of these incidents.<<<

We most certainly had. Whether they legitimately happened (your modifier), which can only apply to the second two allegations, isn’t controlled by whether we heard about them or not.

“They’re eating the cats!” is not the same assertion as “There have been reports that they are eating with the cats.”

Are Doug and Sandy clowns, too?
I never said we hadn't heard of the bogus incidents. Since we did hear DID hear of those, I'm still pretty sure we would have heard, and will hear, of any legitimate ones, right here.

If those assertions are made with the same intent and produce the same effect then the difference isn't relevant to their purpose, though I am not sure what that has to do with this conversation.

And sadly, Sandy has become more clownlike. Being 75 myself, I'm not agist, but things seem to have gone a bit astray since around the time Cory left, though still not so far that I wouldn't believe a real analysis if he produced one.

Finally, I'm not sure how my Greenie Libtard politics fit into your narrative here. ?

I don’t agree with that assertion. Just like it’s possible to own a Cybertruck and not post 100,000 videos to YouTube like most of us have refrained from doing. (i’ve had early early examples of the my, m3p, the CT and various FSD builds over the years and yet posted zero video on youtube) It’s possible to have a failure or mechanical issue and not report it on this forum or anywhere but to Tesla and they sure aren’t going to say a word about this unless they have to at some point.

1. WhistlingDiesel’s truck broke causation is up for dedate. Not whether it broke.

2. Incident # we have a photo that’s inconclusive as to even whether the hitch is broken. We simply have no idea as to whether they were towing as WD asserts or if it was a rear anti collision as most here believe or anything else. We have no idea whether it’s legitimate. That alone doesn’t make it illegitimate.

3. The third one it’s just in the ether but again we have no idea concerning mechanism of alleged failure or anything else.

That in no way rules out that there have been other things that have not made it onto our collective radar. We could go through David Rumsfeld‘s entire list but I’ll just jump to “known knowns” and the one that matters and troubles I think anybody with good common sense and people like Sandy, Doug and apparently JRE is that aluminum castings may not be the best material for this application. It will do what it must according to its composition, just like carbon dioxide is gonna do what it does unless we’re vanishing it into some warm hole. So the concerns are legitimate. And whether you de any of those gentlemen to be clowns is rather irrelevant as to whether they have the right to express their opinions, for money or clicks or whatever their motivations my be.

How your greenie/libtard politics fit into my narrative? I thought it was pretty clear in saying that zealotry creates scotomas and I find it to be generally a net negative.

But, I called out political zealotry and hero worship, both of which seem to be at work here.

"You guys are making a mountain out of molehill because of your politics is what I’m saying."
It seems to me that you're the one blowing it all out of proportion, lol. We each said our piece and was done with it. As mentioned, like Jerry, we were all allowed to express our own opinion based on the lack of evidence that the YT-er was presenting as "facts". That was it. Until you, @dalton108, decided to "punish" us for the exact same thing you're claiming to fight for; contradictory and unhinged.

I said I was pretty sure, not dead certain, but Cybertruck news gets here from all kinds of sources, not just media posts by owners. A real towing failure would be one of those too big to hide from zealots.

There's not much room for debate on causation since WD's truck broke because he tried really hard to break it, and evidence points to him trying more than once. ANYTHING breaks if you try hard enough, which is his whole schtick. What matters is how far over specifications and real-world requirements it takes to break it. Aluminum castings do not have to be the best material for this particular application, just a fully satisfactory one that contributes to a better all-around truck.

We will eventually learn if aluminum castings are unsuitable for towing, and that's my point, we will read about it here if they aren't, won't we? I find it very hard to see how saying that amounts to zealotry.

And DONALD Rumsfeld is not the best character to call up to support an argument. Haha, I even have anecdotes about him, and Clarence Thomas too, from my corporate days.

no one is honestly going to stop buying Nike shoes or Apple iPhones just because of their companies less than moral business decisions.
Why not? I do

This is disappointing, but not at all surprising. YouTube is a business, and he knows what content will make money.

He basically sensationalized every hot take out there and sold it as truth. JUST LIKE THE PEOPLE HE COMPLAINS ABOUT!

Unfortunately, that’s the world we now live in. You can’t speak freely unless it aligns with popular opinion, if it does you can say whatever you want, and people will cheer you on

To add real context: I have several friends that are YouTubers with millions of viewers. I have personally been in conversations with statements like “It would be crazy if this (thing) broke on the video! People would go crazy over that. Can we do something to make that happen?”) - YouTube is entertainment.

Look, my Cadillac broke:

I'm not sure why it broke, but we can't deny it broke! Maybe it has a weak roof?

This is the first edition of a truck by Tesla - there are bound to be some issues with the first version. Give it a few more versions and I'm sure things will get better. Any manufacturer with a first version of a new platform will have issues.
From where I'm standing, it looks like the Cybertruck is already stronger and more reliable than the ICE competition.

Never under-estimate the ability of the Internet to blow issues on an EV out of proportion.

wow. I like his videos. I do think there is a lot of politics in this as well but honestly, how much did Elon Musk actually build on the CT? It was a team of designers, techs and people. Elon supported it with an idea. I am not very happy with this rear bumper thing though. More I look into it there is some truth there but how much I do not know and I continue to pull my trailers. I just LOVE the truck. (hate the range) but can deal with it.

Jerry Rigged... He should buy a Silverado EV with its poor engineering, legacy truck shape and no Full self driving... Of course the only reason for his video is either politics or because legacy auto money...
