Let the gross poors of the world deal with that stuff!

Get my affluent white ass to Mars, STAT!

What’s left of ‘humanity’ needs to persist!

The thing I find most fascinating about Musk versus almost every other billionaire around is Musk has somehow found how to do laudable things and turn it into a profitable venture. Gates has billions, largely from unethical business practices which he eventually turned into good. Musk has largely done the right thing along the way.

I will emphatically agree with that, even as I disagree with Elon's politics of late.

Mars colonization won't save anyone currently living. People currently living may help with Mars colonization. Ergo, we should save as many who are currently living (especially young people) to help make sure Mars colonization happens.

have to colonize first... and to be practical colonization won't come from a nation needing aid for mosquito nets. that may sound cold but it's true.

That's not cold, it's ignorant and shortsighted.

Having to spend time and money on illness means they can't spend it on education and production. And with climate change - no matter what you believe of why it's happening, it is - the areas that need mosquito netting will only expand.

There are places even in the US that need help. And scientists and astronauts are still likely to be born there. Abandoning them only makes us all worse.

A species that will not take care of its own is not worth saving.

I think the long term insurance policy of the species is more important. it's fine you disagree.

I’m getting the slight vibe the disagreement exists only with the suggestion that, until we get to Mars, we neednt fund cures for diseases, especially those diseases that only effect the poors.

And just when Spock was warming to humans!

Better not chance it. We should eliminate the poor now. Just in case.
