The tax credit is neither here nor there. Because the Ford dealer will make sure the "dealer markup" negates whatever tax credit is still available by the time your number comes up.
Devil's advocate: Just as Tesla did on the Model 3 ramp up/incentive wind down.

Devil's advocate advocate: All manufacturers had raised prices 3% on average in 2021... Car prices at the point of sale increased by 30% in 2021.

Like I said, the tax credit is neither here nor there. The dealer (or manufacturer in Tesla's case) effectively gets the benefit of it.

Purchase the Lightning Pro IF you can get one at MSRP and trade up to your Cybertruck when it arrives. Resale values on used Lightning's should be amazing.

keep you excited? ..... no one will look at you in the ford lightning like they will in the cybertruck. better vehicle, cooler car, it will turn heads. the lightning looks the same as the current f150....but with a light bar in the front. there is no comparison. worth the wait. also the charge network with tesla no other company can come close to. if you get the lightning you will regret it once you see cybertrucks on the road.

You should wait until the next generation mach e is released at least.

Imho, Sentry mode is worth it by itself bar none, but...
  • Mach-E has major software issues in general
  • Mach-E thermal nightmare by sandy munro
  • Blue cruise is a decade behind
  • Sticker price is not dealer markup price especially when they just start selling.
  • Stainless steel for a rust proof truck
  • 10 years of proven battery tech
  • Older cars keep getting new features, or are upgradeable
  • You'll never lose your car for the first 5 years (it's unmistakable)
  • Rivian's platform loses an additional 60% of battery when towing.
  • The vault, and everything in it, will be inaccessible to robbers.
  • Both have vehicle to vehicle lvl 2 charging
  • I don't trust legacy, Porsche has been already majorly fucking over their customers (and I loved the taycan).
  • Mach-Es have been overheating from driving down hill
  • Technology bandwagon
  • Sentry mode is so good I'll list it twice since you can stream it to your phone now ?
  • Also Ford didn't upgrade cars from sync 2 to sync 3 so it will stop getting updates within 3 years when they go to the next one.
If it wasn't meant to be, it's not the hummer so you have my blessing. I'll buy your spot in line if I must ?.

If that's the add-on fees on my own F150 order, it will be a go for me if they confirm the 300 mile range.

And I will decide later on on whether to sell it or the CT when the latter finally arrive.

I figure I might even make a small profit and I can take a small loss.

Not so sure you won't get a bad surprise from Ford once you actually try to buy, but I think you should weigh the pros and cons and buy what you like.

Video on the actual Ford pricing:

Something interesting I just saw in the news today...Ford is going to have Lightning buyers sign an agreement that they can't sell their trucks for a year. I don't let other people tell me what I can and can't do with my property so that would turn me away from Ford immediately. Maybe the only argument here would be if you finance through Ford and they maintain that they are the true owners of the vehicle until you pay it off, or pay off a certain percentage. Ford doesn't seem to be a great company to purchase from in my limited experience.

You are limited in what you can do with your personal property all the time, every day. It's ridiculous to think otherwise.

Ha! You always have something to say, just to say it. You know what I meant. I don't need to explain it. Maybe if you don't have something productive to say, keep it to yourself?
