Let's be honest - who disliked and/or was repulsed by the Cybertruck when they first saw it?

I didn't watch it live, I thought it was just a fan render when I saw the first article about it, and then I realized that it was the real deal.

When I was younger we designed rocket powered cars. cool part was they were aero-tested and all in a little wind tunnel. My design was similar to the CT, and it had a silver finish. So when I saw the CT that immediately pulled that memory from the deep forgotten neuron somewhere. Was funny because my model was one of the few that passed the aero threshold, and here we are talking about CT aerodynamics at times.
When l first saw the CT it hit like a falling star or 'Space Junk' and l was blown away! Once the excitement settled and l was able to think clearly, l put my money down. Then the 'in depth dive' started primarily out of how good this thing might be? I guestimated the aero to be Cd 0.33 with a best case Cd 0.30. Let's wait a couple of weeks and see if this brings 3.1 miles to the 1 kWh efficiency. I'd love that to be true. Numbers are fun. Pure speculation! ;)

I had no idea about the revel and only saw it on the news the next day because of the bullet proof glass breaking. Once my eyes saw it I was like no way, but I couldn't stop looking at it and learning about it. It wasn't until Sunday night after the unveiling that I placed my order and my wife was wondering why I took so long.
Armour Glass____l can dig it and every other bloody good thing about CYBRTRK.
My wife was in Germany when l watched the CT come on stage and was blown away. When l was 19, l started work as an Architect even tho l was studying at night.
So the days before reveal had me imagining the look based on the photo Tesla gave out as a clue! What l had 'reverse engineered' in my head space was pretty close to the drive on stage BEAST!
Two weeks after placing the Day 1 res, having cancelled my $3000 deposit for
a Model 3 order to do so, l realised l should have ordered 10. I knew the numbers were high by then, possibly well above the $250K mark, and accepted my fate that l would simply have to buy a future CT either second hand or pay the price.
I see Sandy Munro doing just that to get a crack at cracking one open before anyone else on the Planet. If anyone is gonna do it, Sandy WILL 'Make it so' ( Jean Luc Picard ) [And yes, Patrick Stewart and l have chatted face to face in 1997]
We were at a Car Show in the Yarra Glen.
He's a car nut..... CYBRTRK is a Car Nut's 'WET DREAM'
BTW My wife wanted to kill me for buying the CT when she returned from Overseas.
She might be 'warming' to the COLD STEAL CT(!?!?!?!?)

First ten minute reservation holder, in spite of the visual design, not because of it. Features and announced price were what got me in line.

A month or so later, I saw some CGI of it blacked out, that definitely helped. Normally murdered cars look like try hards to me, but stealth actually helps the CT look "make sense".

As we've proceeded from alpha through the RC builds, the design has made less and less sense to me over time. Starts off good up front, losses me somewhere between the mirrors and the roof peak, and by the tailgate I'm wondering why this Carolina Skiff boat has wheels.

Don't get me wrong, it's still in my top 3 for my next vehicle purchase. But because of the price/features I expect it to land with, not because of its looks or the not so excellent use of and access to interior space.
Yeah, I'm more in the features and price camp myself. If this thing ends up being as expensive as the other EV trucks, not sure what the plan is.

I like the idea of an EV, I enjoy the techie stuff, love the idea of all that power, but it's hard for me to justify these prices that push closer and closer to six figures.

Wraps will help with the looks for me

My first thought was "is this really happening?!" I have never seen a company reveal something with that extreme of a design, as the reveal went on I fell in love with more than just its looks. Then he dropped the price and I realized I can actually afford to own it!
You can afford a $70,000+ vehicle? Good for you. I wish I could.
