Try to drive backwards and forwards in a straight line without steering, and cycle the button on each direction change. Turning can keep it engaged.

Also never use it on sealed dry road surfaces as this can cause permanent damage to the drivetrain, axles and tyres etc.

Tried that, which is y I drove out and in to the parking spot. Took a pic of my tread marks going in and out of the parking spot.

Mine did the same thing. I had to aggressively wiggle the steering wheel back and forth many times. Then it disengaged.

I had the same situation. Having owned plenty of previous trucks with lockers, they really hate being on pavement but as long as you drive perfectly straight, you will not cause damage. So I tried locking mine in the driveway. After pressing the "lock" button, I did have to move a few feet in order for them to engage. After pressing "unlock", they were stuck in in flashing mode (which is still locked) even though I move forward and back in a straight line. I tried turning the steering wheel a bit (not too much!) but to no avail.

So then, I sprayed the driveway surface with water to simulate looser terrain and "boom"! They unlocked. So, what I am thinking is that since under normal conditions you will be on a dirt surface when using the lockers, they will disengage just fine.

The damage that can be done using lockers on pavement, especially while turning can be very severe and expensive. Don't do it. If you want to test your lockers find a dirt or gravel road or a dirt parking area to try it out.

Hope this is just a software issue, and everything works out!

To play devils advocate though:

Given the photos of the pavement, I assume you engaged your lockers on solid ground? (If so tesla warns to only do this on loose substrate as you might cause damage) Tesla could claim this was user error.

On the other hand the way the lockers work is magnetic, and I wonder if the magnets are holding too tight and the individual that stated above they wiggled their tires aggressively to get it to disengage was a solution.

yea I did read that but I activated off road mode and then diff locked by them self.

then I had to drive to try and attempt to disengage them which didn’t work until N rolling it.

also the diff lock calibration error has been active since even before I started the new SW updates.

Are you sure about this? I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I've been putting it in offroad mode to demonstrate how high it goes (even if I don't go to "extract", "very high" is impressive enough). If they now have made it so that the diffs lock the moment you go to offroad mode, which wouldn't make a lot of sense, there's going to be a lot of people running into this.

So you managed to get them to unlock, but are still getting it towed?

Maybe magneticly actuated, but still mechanically locked from what I understand.
