It doesn't sound like they will sell many of them
For the people in the know, know the RWD is not the best value. But for the masses, it's $10,000 cheaper.
The vault right now is to leaky to put things that need to be dry
Another plus for the cargo totes.
The hard tonneau is a must for the clientele being targeted . And the rear bed 110 and 240 V outlets . That’s essential .
Fully agree, It's like, what are they thinking. The rear 110 240 makes it a cyber truck along with the retractable tonneau cover. I guess now people will realize there's an actual bed back there.
For those curious there are ones in the second hand market but it’s not cheap!!!!

Having the retractable Tonneau cover just about makes up for the $10,000 savings.

I have read 11 pages of RWD comments but I haven’t heard anyone say I am placing a RWD CT order.

Potential CT buyers are given 3 choices. Good, better, best. Most shoppers go for “better” when given the choice when buying a consumer item. Cell phones are a great example.

It’s all about marketing and Tesla is very good at it. I’m confident that many hours of strategizing went into de-contenting the RWD trim.

It's possible the change in the tonneau is a planned opening the opportunity for more actual work related racks and bed caps. I really feel like this is a fleet truck offering. And more "budget" buyers of course.

Brilliant marketing and de-contenting by Tesla. I wish they would have made the rolling tonneau optional.

The 18” wheels look like steelies with a funky looking wheel cover.

Stripping down a failed product and selling it for a bit less is not going to work.
Failed? I love my CT. Seems like most of the people here do also. Are there issues? Yes. Has it not sold as much as expected? Yes. Doesn't rise to failed to me . . .

Women love the CT, I can see this hitting the mark for those that just want a Model S/3/X/Y with a bed and the look of a CT.

The product can be great and still be a failure. My Giulia was the best car I ever owned by a wide margin and they sold like none of them because of public perception. Everywhere I went, people tripped over themselves to tell me how unreliable it would be, despite it being the most reliable performance vehicle I've ever owned (of several). There was a limited window to get something as unique as the Cybertruck into the public opinion and Tesla (Elon) did about as bad a job as you can possibly do.

The panels flying off and early ones being bought back sealed the deal. Buy one if you love it (as I do), but I think they will struggle to sell even 20K units a year, regardless of price.

Going so far as to strip the HEPA filter out is an embarrassment and tells me they are making zero money on the RWD. I was waiting for this trim, but have no interest in ever buying one without V2L.

I’m assuming the pack is the same, but efficiency is higher due to the single motor and reduced weight.
Yea I agree, it is just nuts to me that the lowest price option, is also the highest range.
