Yep, I noticed that too. We’ll have to see what the final product actually has, but if it matches what they have written rather than their images, it will not be illuminated.
Well, dang.... I've been ILLUMINATED.

People were expecting a 250mi RWD Cybertruck with all the other features of the AWD for $61K, because that's what was Tesla was advertising as recently as August 2024 (8 months ago).

So no, I don't think offering a 250mi RWD Cybertruck with all the other features of the AWD for $70K (instead of $61K) would make people happy.

$64K would make a difference. Then it would be $56,500 after the tax credit, instead of $62,500. A price that starts with "5" looks better than one that starts with "6".
Really? I thought that was photoshop.

Nope, it's a genuine clip from Tesla's August 6, 2024 Cybertruck order page. You can see the full page in the Internet Archive here. Or you can read Motor Trend's 2024 Cybertruck review:
Initially, the most affordable RWD models, arriving by 2025, cleared $61,000 to start ... With a full 123-kWh battery pack, Tesla figures the Cybertruck's RWD configuration could see up to 250 miles of range ...

“Signature light bar” is what tesla calls the DLR and they expressly state the the RWD won’t have it. Not really speculating on that part. That doesn’t mean I know for certain, but my expectation is it’s still going to have the same white opaque lens there just won’t be lights behind it.
I believe you are correct about the lights not being behind the lens. Normally you would distribute a light as the fixture with the bulb(lamp), but on the site, it specifically says no signature lamps, and lamp usually only refers to the light source, the bulb.

Tesla spent years trying to figure out how to add wipers because it was an design afterthought and Elon was fixed on the external looks so a well for wipers was ruled out.
It wasn’t an after thought. It was a, we can do it some other way, pre thought. Mercedes had a car that used ultrasonics to clear the windshield (don’t remember if it was concept, or production), and I heard of other cars using compressed air to clear the windshield. They probably tried all kinds of stuff and then gave up, maybe the window is just too big.
But it wasn’t an after thought. As soon as the design team said let’s make the hood flows with the window, it’ll help with areo, and look awesome. The windshield wiper team said “what about us”?

I think current sales stats are down to price (a little too high) and timing (politics and economic uncertainty).

But none of this is going to matter in a year. My prediction is when people start hearing of people watching videos, working, or sleeping while their truck drives them to work, Tesla will sell as many as they can make...

Ok. But what other electric truck can you buy at $49k?

Also, if the DM didn't exist and this was your option with 350 - 360 miles, would you buy it then?
It has less features than the cheaper sedans and SUVs that already exist within the Tesla lineup. So no. Lol

The 3 and the Y? The rear screen and front venilated seat features? It also has features those don't have.

They also have less space, less utility than a truck and less durability. Also there isn't a $49k electric truck right now. Tesla priced it as such and buyers may wait for the price to drop. I think the other electric truck prices will play a factor.

So, based upon that, the greater range, ie ~25kWh in battery is the biggest difference in the price difference of $9k.

I'd say they should have offered the 250mi range version for $61k and a LR version for $70k and kept their promise and let people choose.
