The availability dates for the single-motor RWD version of the Cybertruck keep getting pushed back.

- When the RWD version was announced in April, delivery was scheduled for "June-July 2025"

- Then it was revised to "July-August 2025".

- Now it's "6-8 Weeks", which implies August-September 2025.

Maybe I missed it, but I'm not seeing any complaints about the uncertainty and delay. This could mean (1) that RWD customers are unusually patient and understanding; or else (2) that there simply aren't a lot of RWD customers out there.

... I just put in my order and finished my side of the registration for the cheaper RWD version. The order date was 4/18/25 the dealership is projecting a June/July delivery timeline. I can't wait. It does seem like too much has been taken out to save that 10K though.
My research has confirmed that there is at least one person on this forum that ordered a RWD Cybertruck. So they do exist. But the numbers may be low. Anyone else?

Tesla may be realizing that demand for the $70k RWD is lower than expected. I read of only one forum member placing a pre order for one.

I think the problem is the price point after de-contenting the vehicle. I feel Tesla should have priced the RWD trim around $61,990.

With the $7500 tax cut ending on 9/30 Tesla may have to adjust the MSRP's on all Cybertruck trims.

I think the RWD market is largely made up of people who are not fanatics. My parents would buy one if they were in the market. They also don't waste time online talking about cars.

I read of a second one, but he decided to cancel the order. Can’t think of who that was…

Sep 30th $7.500 tax credit will go away than the price difference between AWD and RWD gonna get bigger so a lot of people will switch to order RWD. That is what i am thinking…

I’m not so sure, the Cybertruck only competition is the Rivian and Lightning, and that’s loosing the tax cut as well.

Actually, 2025 Rivians aren't eligible for the tax credit (they apparently don”t meet all battery sourcing requirements). So Rivian pricing should not be affected.

Some GM pickups (Chevy Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV) will be losing the credit, like the Lightning and Cybertruck.

To me, a 2wd vehicle reduces the functionality and adventure vehicle marketability of this truck way too much. At least for consumers. Not sure how compelling of an argument CT is as a fleet or worksite vehicle so I can’t comment on that exactly but I get a sense there are better options from people I trust in this space.
Can’t help but feel like the model misses the correct niche market in multiple directions though so I’m not surprised demand is low.

The RWD CT is currently priced at $69,990 in US Dollars (not including the $7,500 US tax credit or gas savings). That appears to be equivalent to around $107,000 in Australian dollars (not including on-road costs or petrol savings). Is that a sufficiently sweet price point? My impression is that it is still high relative to ICE options in Australia, like the Ford Ranger or Toyota HiLux.

Tesla is planning to sell Cybertrucks in Saudi Arabia later this year, which would be the first market outside North America. But they aren't taking orders yet, and pricing hasn't been announced. It might be more complicated to produce CTs for Australia, because presumably they would need to have the steering wheel on the right.

I'd think because its steer by wire it would be simpler to change the steering wheel location.

In my view, this is a fleet/robodelivery vehicle. I have some view into what is called "the last mile" challenges for small constant deliveries. Now, it's LTL, or box trucks/vans that weave through our world that get the "stuff" to where the "stuff" needs to go.

Every business or domicile existing is a delivery point now, staggering numbers. If deliveries can be needled down to just what you need when you need it, JIT, cheaper, safer, faster, it's game changing.

The lack of tonneau is ripe for customized locking containers, end to end tracking pinpoint, exceedingly accurate inventory controls. I find this eventuality exciting, but it's a behind the scenes issue to most consumers. That's why the truck is so stripped down from the fun human stuff in the AWD/CB versions. Small to medium businesses need this.

Local delivery companies are a train wreck to deal with in my small needs and takes up a ton of time to just get one local-to-local delivery completed.
